While the apartment itself was clean, it was also run down and showed its age, especially the kitchen and bathroom.
The building layout is horrible, especially for families with strollers or those with mobility issues. There are several SETS of stairs that you need to ascend to get to the elevator, and there is a set of stairs you need to descend from the entryway of the unit to the living room. Furthermore, the trash disposal chute is near the front of the building, forcing you to carry your trash bags from the unit, down the elevator and down several sets of stairs.
The biggest issue with this building is the fact that its half short-term rentals and half full-time rentals, which means there are a vast amount of rules and regulations (i.e. cant be in the pool after 8pm, can't be on your own patio past 10pm, etc.) that are in place to ensure that the full-time renters are not bothered by weekend renters. While I understand the need to protect the peace and quiet of the full-timers, it also makes for a very uncomfortable and constricting experience for weekenders.
