Amazing Location - Close to Union Station

Summary:
Look no further - our darling one bedroom apartment in the heart of Capitol Hill is THE perfect apartment for those coming to DC on business or pleasure! LESS than 1 mile from the city`s hub of activity and anchor to the major sights, Union Station!

The Space:
Welcome to AMAZING Location- Its true, we are just steps to Union Station.

- Walk to metro in 15 minutes, and stroll the beautiful Capitol Hill and Eastern Market neighborhood in under 10 mins.

- Access to a huge array of dining spots in the Capital Hill area; H St, Eastern Market and more.

- Zip across the city via metro, bus, bike shares all moments away. Uber & Lyft readily available.

- 350 Sq Ft ONE bedroom apartment (FULL size bed in bedroom) is perfect for a single traveling exec or a small family (air mattress is provided for one small kiddo).

- Chill with your morning coffee in the enchanted garden complete with chiminea, and outdoor fish-pond during warmer months (see if you can spot `Nicoli" the resident fish) backyard access is restricted after 7pm.

- Small but perfect `Euro` kitchenette area with all the basics you need including a 2 ring induction stove top to prepare something quick and easy.

- Great WIFI signal for those that need to work as they stay
Beautiful shower room with huge `rain` overhead shower and gorgeous tile.

- A large, flat-screen TV with smart streaming perfect for relaxing after a long day walking the sights.

Guest Access:
Guests will have access to the entire apartment, it is not shared. Like most row homes in D.C. there are tenants living above you, but they have access via a separate entrance and chances are you won’t run into them.

There is a family living upstairs. Please note that the everyday sounds and noises of family life (footsteps, stairs, kids playing, etc.) can be heard in both directions. You will undoubtedly hear them (and they will hear you) as they go about their everyday life.

The Neighborhood:
The Capitol Hill apartment, which is in the Historic District, is just a couple of minutes’ walk from the most popular bars and restaurants in the exciting H Street Corridor (Atlas Performing Arts Theater, live music, food and bars) and to Eastern Market.  Eastern Market is one of the few historic public market buildings left in Washington, DC and the only one that has retained its original public market function. The Eastern Market building is designated as a National Historic Landmark and has been in continuous operation since 1873. There is a crafts and antiques fair along with food and music every weekend.

The apartment is also close to the Capitol, the Library of Congress, the Supreme Court, the US Botanical Garden, the Mall, Union Market, the Folger Shakespeare Library, Gallaudet University, Chinatown, Barracks Row, the National Arboretum, the Navy Yard, the DC United Soccer Team (RFK Stadium) and the Washington Nationals baseball stadium.  You can even golf in the city at either Langston Golf Course (1.5 miles away and on the streetcar line) or East Potomac Golf Course (4 miles away).

Most, if not all, of these locations are within walking distance, or easily accessible by bike, bus, Metro, streetcar and there is always Lyft or Uber.  From museums, live music, comedy, improv, and stage plays, those interested in the arts or just looking to see something new will not be disappointed!

Getting Around:
We are located less than 0.5 mile from the brand-new DC Streetcar (free at the moment) that runs down H Street all the way to Union Station - the epicenter of DC`s action!

We are also one to three blocks away from several Capital Bikeshares and bus lines, including the D6, 92, 90, X8 & more! There is some free street parking (though please pay very close attention to signs, and it operates on a first come first serve basis) and a ton of available taxis, Lyfts, and Ubers nearby. If you feel like taking a stroll, Eastern Market, Union Market, Capitol Hill, the Capitol, Library of Congress, H street and Union Station are all within walking distance.

The 96 bus can take you directly to Union Station in 11 minutes (easy walk there in under 20 minutes), or bike there in LESS than 10 minutes and from there you can get on the metro system or continue by foot to all the sites mentioned!!

Other Things to Note:
- The HVAC is controlled from the "main house". If you would like the temperature adjusted, just let us know! There are space heaters provided for your comfort in the winter. As it is the lower level the apartment tends to stay nice and cool.
- Backyard access is restricted after 7pm.

Clean and convenient
This rental met my needs to a T - convenient, easy walk to key locations, restaurants nearby. The only challenge was I'm short, and this place was designed for a tall person. First challenge was location of key box when I arrived. Inside, I could not reach across the kitchen counter to access dishes, etc. on the shelves. Maybe provide a stool so could access dishes and be able to use microwave?

Very nice garden apartment in DC with a backyard space, updated bathroom and kitchenette areas, and separate bedroom space. It was chilly when we were in town, but the 2 radiator heaters worked well to make the whole space comfortable. The bedroom is a bit tight for 2 people, but we made it work. Very convenient to both the Union Station Red Line stop and the Eastern Market blue/orange/silver line. Easy to walk to 7th St shops or 8th St stops. Just what we were looking for in DC.
