Lovely boutique hotel, walked the bridge to Granville Island for delicious fish n chips, the hotel shuttled me to my event that evening, bery comfortable sleep and then breakfast. I'll book this hotel again.

Online photos and descriptions of hotel rooms, location and amenities are completely misleading. The cost for my stay was exorbitant, compared to the state of the hotel. Rooms smelled like smoke. (I tried 3 different rooms); Corridors are terribly outdated. Fitness center apparently doesn't open until 7.00am - which was not clear until I tried to use it at 6.15 and couldn’t get in. 7am was too late for me to make use of, and breakfast was also served too late for me to enjoy. The lobby area is also outdated and not well appointed. I booked my 2 night stay and prepaid in full, 3-1/2 months in advance, but was given - a handicap accessible room, facing the highway on ramp.. and was told this room was ‘an upgraded room’, which was crazy. On the 2nd night, I was able to switch to a quieter yet much smaller room, with an alley/roof view. On the whole, the experience was very disappointing and frustrating.

The location is excellent. The staff are welcoming, friendly, efficient and helpful. The Rooftop Bar is great and the servers are friendly and welcoming. But, our room has a defective shower: not enough water and not enough pressure. We let the staff know twice. Nothing changed. They said they’d let maintenance know. But, nothing changed. We did not have a decent shower. I know, I know: it’s not the end of the world or perhaps as they say “a First World problem,” but when you’re on vacation, you hope to avoid these problems. I’d definitely stay there again (if we were assured we’d get a working shower).
