Nice setting in a historical area. Although the hotel dates back to 1830’s, they have a nice setup for visitors to enjoy.

Hotel Stay

Overall a very good experience. Only complaints would be a bed mattress that was on the stiff side and a very very noisy exhaust fan in the bathroom. The surroundings on the peninsula were off the hook beautiful and don’t leave without driving out to the lighthouse.

This is an old but wonderfully restored hotel. Our room was clean and comfortable with everything needed including shampoo, safe, and hair dryer. It had unique spaces like a small sitting area with a beautiful view of the harbor. As one would expect with an older hotel the walls are thin so I could hear all the happenings from the bathroom next door. You may want earplugs if that bothers you. The mattress is a little old and thin but the bedding was soft and comfortable. They have a full restaurant with a good variety on the menu including vegetarian options. There are few choices in town other than here to eat but it’s not far to other towns with more options. The evening staff at the restaurant seemed to be a bit overwhelmed so service was slow. Morning was much better. There is a beautiful hike in town to Bray Head with amazing cliff views of the ocean. I highly recommend this hike if you are able to do a somewhat strenuous 1.5 mile uphill climb on a well maintained road/trail. Overall we had a great stay and would definitely return.

Great friendly Hotel !!!

Had a fantastic time at the Royal Valencia Hotel. Got upgraded to the four poster bedroom for two days because of a plumbing problem in our room. Gorgeous view at the front across the bay. Breakfast was good, maybe keep an eye on items running out. Dinner was lovely, staff very friendly and helpful. Got to land on Skellig Michael which was our intended trip, brilliant.

Very quiet town

Listed building. Probably needs some touch up. Because of its age, could hear other rooms and footsteps all around. Surrounding was very very quiet… empty houses and nothing much else.

Alright, not fully what the pics make it seem

It was alright. Four pouster could do with a sand and paint, no bathtub was available, pictures of Tassimo machine in Superior room but none was found. Staff were nice.

We had to wait quite a bit to check in, there was no one at the front desk. We were also told there was no breakfast until 8am, but others were in eating before that. Cleanliness no the best, bathroom floors were dirty. Very charming though, some other flaws that are to be expended with the age.
