3 rd time this year I have stayed at the Royal York. Generally good stay. Had some plumbing issues which were taken care of promptly. East side hallways were very quiet though room walls a paper thin, you could hear people opening drawers and moving around in other rooms but was not disturbing for me. Room seemed smaller and more In need of TLC (wall paper peeling a bit) than the other rooms I stayed in the high in theory were of the same class. Bed was very comfortable and staff were very excellent

I always love staying at this iconic hotel! My one friend had never stayed here before and they graciously upgraded us to a beautiful room with 2 double beds, two bathrooms and a sitting area. Perfect view of union station and a very short walk to Scotiabank Arena to go see Justin Timberlake. The clock tower lobby bar was a great vibe with yummy drinks and food. Staff were very welcoming and helpful! Can’t wait to return one day! Thank you :)

Great stay.
The Fairmont is a grand hotel. The check-in staff was helpful and got me into a room right away. Throughout the hotel I was asked how my stay was going. I was in town for a conference, and the ballroom space was gorgeous and the staff was kind. I slept well and the bathroom was perfect.

Nice getaway
Really enjoy staying at the Royal York. Convenient location. Love the history of the place. Had a great breakfast at the restaurant in the lobby. Amy was our server and she was excellent. Very relaxing pleasant stay. Love the health club facilities also.

Stayed for the history of the building and convenient location. Would reconsider staying here in the future as the walls are very thin and you could hear the people - clearly - next door. I had a flight to catch and requested a wake up call, and not just rely on the alarm on my phone. Did not receive a call. Hard to justify the stay for the price paid.

Overall “meh” experience for staying there for our first time. Our toilet wasn’t working and the handle was almost dangling off, so the toilet ran. The bathroom was dirty, there was writing on the walls by the windows. We called and asked for a fridge and after an hour and a half was told they didn’t have any record of the conversation and no fridge came - so our food went bad. Very difficult time finding the accessibility ramp or having any one help us to find it.

A favorite place of mine: I graduate college in 2001. Around 2003, I went to Toronto to see my college crush (a close friend), and she invited me into her room. I was inexperienced and nervous, mumbled something incoherent about being with my friends, and ran off like an idiot. We later were in a relationship for a couple years, broke up, and life went on. That was my association of The Royal York for some time. I'm married now, have been to this hotel with my wife and daughters previously, and this time, with just my wife. My kids love the fancy feel of the lobby and the pool; my wife and I love Clockwork and the Library Bar; we all love the proximity to Union Station. It's always just a train ride away, an escape from real life, and a wonderful place to spend a weekend.
