Relax ! HotTub-BigDeck-Separate GameRoom GreatLocation

Halfway between Gatlinburg & Pigeon Forge, Rosy Bear Retreat is your mountain home-away-from-home. Soaring ceilings & three separate sleeping areas offer plenty of space to spread out — including a lower-level game room with its own separate entrance — while a jetted tub inside & hot tub on the porch offer plenty of opportunities for R&R.

Close to everything yet tucked away, Rosy Bear Retreat lets you enjoy the best of the Great Smoky Mountains in one beautiful log cabin setting. You’ll love waking up to mornings overlooking the forest from the kitchen deck and winding down your evenings by the fireplace after a day spent enjoying Dollywood, dining & so much more.

Just about 20 min to Dollywood and just over 20 minutes from the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, you’re close to it all while having a lovely cabin to come home to each day you’re here. We want to make your stay as cozy and comfy as possible, so our cabin features an open living space with a well-stocked kitchen and three sleeping spaces to suit every need.

In the kitchen, you’ll find new dishes, pots, pans, silverware and glasses plus new dining chairs at the large table, the better to enjoy the view of the forest from the dramatic picture windows.

Downstairs, you’ll find a game room stocked with a pool table, foosball table, a wall-mounted gaming system and its own bathroom.

There’s even a full-sized washer and dryer in one of the two spacious bathrooms on the main level.

The second bedroom on the ground floor contains a queen-sized bed and flat-screen TV.

Upstairs, a sleeping loft upstairs overlooks the main living area and holds both a queen-sized bed and twin trundle bed.

All of our TVs have Roku and are ready for your streaming enjoyment. Please bring your own log in and passwords for your custom viewing pleasure!

When you aren’t relaxing over a cup of coffee on the private back deck (we’ve got both a Keurig and a regular coffee maker) or beating your buddies at Super Mario Bros., you’ll want to explore what else the area has to offer!

Christmas Mountain Getaway

Overall this property has it all; great location, great communication from the host, and things to do at the cabin. There are definitely bears in the area, we didn’t get to see them but one left a nice big poo right in front of the porch early in the morning. We also saw a couple raccoons. When we arrived we did notice it looked like someone hadn’t been there in a while as leaves covered the porch, I used the broom and shovel outside to clear it off.Positives: great views, perfect spot in the mountain for first timers, about halfway up the mountain. Plenty of space for a decent size family. Fantastic host! Responds very quickly to messages as well as gives you a little itinerary with all the local things to do or places to eat. Negatives: while there is a game room the equipment could use some updating. The pool table while functionable is very warped and the foosball table is in the same shape. The beds are not very comfortable, but I’m not a fan of firm mattresses so that could be a personal thing.

Misleading Listing and Disappointing Stay – Not Suitable for Larger Groups

We stayed at this cabin over Thanksgiving and, unfortunately, it did not meet our expectations. While the hosts were very responsive, the listing was misleading in several ways: 1. Sleeping Arrangements: The listing states 3 bedrooms and a loft, but in reality, there are only 2 actual bedrooms. The “third bedroom” is the living room with an uncomfortable pull-out sofa, which is not ideal for sleeping. 2. Bathrooms: The cabin is advertised as having 3 bathrooms, but one is located in the basement, which is only accessible from the outside. This was inconvenient and unpleasant in the cold November weather. 3. Game Room: The game room is also only accessible from the outside, which makes it far from kid-friendly and difficult to use. 4. Capacity: The listing claims the cabin accommodates up to 9 people. However, we found it comfortable for only 4 adults and 2 children at most. 5. Grill and Outdoor Space: The grill was a very small and old charcoal model placed on an uneven, muddy surface, making it nearly impossible to use. 6. Condition of the Property: The furniture and carpet in the living room were worn and outdated, which detracted from the overall experience. While the location might work for smaller groups and the hosts were quick to respond to any concerns, this cabin is not suitable for the group size and amenities advertised. I recommend the owners update their listing to reflect the reality of the property to avoid disappointment for future guests.

Baecation

The cabin was lovely. It was nice and clean. A good location, not too far from the strip where all the food and shopping is at. Our main problem was the check in process. We was given a code days before we arrived. We didn’t get there till after 4am. I tried calling the property owner and no response. I even sent a text. We had to go through customer service in order to get the actual code for the door. It was resolved quickly tho. The game room was nice just have to fix the pool table. Overall experience was great. We will be back.

Great cabin!

This was a beautiful little cabin and we absolutely enjoyed our stay. We came up for rod run and the location of the cabin was close enough for quick travel into Pigeon Forge but just enough out of the way to stay out of the hustle and bustle of all the people and traffic. The hosts were great and quick to respond when we had difficulty with the lock upon arrival. Our 3 children enjoyed the game room downstairs and the various activities available. We will definitely be back for another visit soon.

Bear in the coola

We had a great time, it was just hard to sleep in the fold outs. The mattresses seemed to be work out. The beds slept very good there were no complaints. We did get to experience a bear getting into one of the cooler. That was pretty exciting!

Rosy Bear Retreat-Howards

We met our son and his family at Rosy Bear Cabin and loved; the location, sleeping areas, playroom, kitchen area was stock, and items identified. It was very clean. Check in and out was a breeze. Nature was at its finest as we seen bears and even had one in the front yard. The surrounding areas had many different stores, shops to visit. We eat at the Howard's restaurant which had many excellent choices of food, service and atmosphere. The Great Smoky Mountains National Park was beautiful park with many different waterfalls, lush forests, sights and sounds and wildlife. This is a great place to bring your family. Don

Family Vacation

We enjoyed our stay at Rosy Bear! The accommodations were adequate for the seven of us, and close to our destination of Pigeon Forge/Dollywood. We had trouble with the access code a couple of times, but it was remedied. The visiting bears were a delight to watch. This property is highly recommended.

Overall

Overall it was a good stay. I was very disappointed that the hot tub wasn’t in working order when we arrived, this was one of the main reasons I booked this cabin. The issue was resolved late the next day, and for that I’m appreciate. Other than that we had a good time.

Lovely Easter getaway

We stayed at the cabin over Easter weekend and had a wonderful time. We enjoyed our morning and afternoon coffee on the front and back porches looking for bears. We had an Easter egg hunt on Easter morning and the family of four bears tried to join in! There was also adequate sleeping arrangements for our family of five and one set of grandparents. The cabin had everything we could need for our stay. We felt like we could just get away from the hustle and bustle of life for a few days, while still being close to town for the kids to do fun touristy things, like the mountain coasters! Also, the owners were very responsive and timely with reply’s.

The cabin was spacious. There was plenty of room for our group. It was nicely decorated. The game room was a nice addition. Just didn't like that we had to go outside to access it. We enjoyed staying at the cabin. Our biggest issue was not always being able to get a connection for our phones.

Perfect spot

This cabin had everything that we needed for our four night stay in the Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge. About 15 minutes from both. Check in was a breeze, and there were plenty of towels, toilet paper, etc. The hot tub on the back deck was a nice touch. I gave four stars on the location just because it’s quite a trek I’ve been to the mountains to get to the cabin. However, if you want to stay in the cabin, as opposed to a hotel or condo, that’s typically what you’re going to get in this area. All in all, I would highly recommend this spot for a family of 5 to 6.
