Guest Access:
Sleeping up to 8 guests in real beds, the cabin boasts a private master bedroom suite, a bunk game room, and a loft. You have access to the entire home and patio area. Guests can park 2-3 cars on the relatively flat street outside the lodge. Roads up the mountain are paved all the way to the cabin.
The Neighborhood:
ADVENTURE FOR EVERY AGE
✓ Cabin is situated near two entrances to the Smoky Mountain National Park, offering easy access to plenty of outdoor activities. You can explore breathtaking waterfalls, diverse wildlife, and an extensive network of trails for both biking and hiking. For those seeking adventure, the area is perfect for fishing, river rafting, and tubing.
✓ There is an outdoor fireplace at the pavilion in the amenities center available on a first come basis. You can bring your own wood and enjoy the fire and mountain views.
✓ Enjoy access to Honeysuckle Meadows seasonal community pool, deli, and catch and release fishing pond, included with your reservation. Pond is open year round. Pool and deli are seasonal, generally from early May beyond Labor Day, subject to change according to weather and owner discretion. No license is needed for the fishing pond, but you will need to bring your own equipment or purchase it there.
Honeysuckle Meadows is located at the intersection of Happy Hollow Road and Wears Valley Road (about 3.5 miles away, at the bottom of the mountain).
NOTE: We DO NOT belong to the amenities center at the Preserve Resort.
Getting Around:
The road is paved all the way from the main road to the cabin. You will encounter some steep and winding mountain roads. In the winter 4wd or AWD may be necessary.
Other Things to Note:
What We Are NOT
*Bargain or Budget: Our properties are priced for quality and comfort, not as budget options.
*Party Place: We prioritize family-friendly environments over party atmospheres.
*Pet-Friendly: In an effort to maintain the cleanliness and comfort for all guests, our properties do not accommodate pets.
CABIN RULES
* Smoke-free, vape-free home. Smoking detectors send alerts for smoking inside the cabin but record no audio or video
*Quiet hours 10 pm- 8 am
*Keep car doors and cabin doors locked (to keep bears out)
BEARS
*Secure trash in the bear proof bin using lock code
*$250 FINE for unsecured trash bins (meaning HOA delivers fine any time the bin is not latched) and/or trash left outside of locked bins. We will pay this charge to our guests if we receive a violation.
*Dye, including hair dye, is not allowed on the property.
AGREEMENTS
*Even after verifying and paying, reservation is not complete until a signed rental agreement is received. ANY GUEST WHO REFUSES TO SIGN THE RENTAL AGREEMENT WILL HAVE THEIR RESERVATION CANCELED.
ACCESS
•Guest(s) shall allow Homeowner or Homeowner's representative access to the property for purposes of repair and inspection. Homeowner shall exercise this right of access in a reasonable manner.
CRITTERS AND CREATURES
In Tennessee, you will almost certainly see some amazing creatures. We particularly love watching the black bears. There are also insects, gnats, ants, roaches, raccoons, spiders, snakes, mice, rats, scorpions, and other creatures. Almost everywhere in the state, including our cabin and resort, is a possible place to run into insects or animals. While we take precautions and have regular pest control, we cannot guarantee a critter or creepy crawly-free experience. If this is a concern for you or your kids, please don't book our cabin because we do not provide refunds if you encounter any wild creatures or insects while you are there. Please let us know if you notice anything in or around your cabin so we can contact our pest control or the proper authorities.
SECURITY CAMERA
For your safety and ours, please be aware that are two security cameras installed at the front door. The cameras record video footage 24/7. This measure is in place to ensure the security of our property and the safety of all guests. The second camera is for the trash bin; it is the closest we could get to view the bin. We installed the second camera strictly in an attempt to avoid the $250 fine by ensuring bears do not scatter trash. Your privacy is of utmost importance, and no other areas are under video surveillance.
CAUTION
*As you enter the cabin, watch your step. There is a staircase leading downstairs immediately on the left as you enter.
*Inspect the loft area to ensure that the window is locked and the window alarm is working. This "egress" window is required by the county for fire safety, but we want to emphasize that it should always remain closed due to the high drop.
Interaction with Guests:
Our check-in procedure for Open A Getaway is designed with your convenience in mind. There's no need to coordinate key pick-up. On the day of your arrival, you will receive a secure door code. It's that simple! At Highview Lodge, your unforgettable Smoky Mountain getaway starts the moment you step through the door. We are always available to offer sightseeing recommendations and to answer any questions or concerns.
