Getaway
The previous reviews I read were 2-3 years old. It states one toilet was slow. I’ll say it doesn’t work. There was a statement about the bedroom corner jacuzzi tubs that there wasn’t enough hot water to use them and that’s true. I was disappointed we couldn’t use these. I liked the cabin and where is was remotely located but won’t stay again due to these issues.

Wonderful trip
It was a great trip! The bathroom on the left of front door toilet did not flush correctly but we had the other bath. The only thing that would make this cabin better is ceiling fans in both bedrooms and one on the front & Back porch.

Bear Haven 297 our 40th Anniversary
We had a great stay. You definitely want to have a four wheel drive vehicle. There are 72 curves to get to the cabin. Bring your own grill. The one at the cabin is tiny. Hot tub was great! After several hours of non use, you have flip the breaker. The breaker is 6 feet away from hot tub. So it would start reheating. Overall lived up to our expectations.

Great place for a family
We really enjoyed the stay. The only thing that could have been better is that the hot water heater will not fill the tubs. Overall, great place.

Not Enough Hot Water
The cabin had a nice layout and pretty clean. Had a air hockey table and nice balcony. The only problems were the pilot light was out in the fire place. Being from Florida not sure how to light. But it was warm anyways. The hot water heaters are not big enough for the tubs.

Vacation Curves
Good communication with management to respond and answer questions by phone or email. The inside of cabin is very nice and comfortable enough fir our needs. Washer and dishwasher both struggled but dryer did us well after 2 turns. The balcony was the wife’s favorite part. The grounds behind cabin is pretty littered but didn’t necessarily effect us. The worst part about the stay was the drive to and from the cabin. 80 curves in the mountains in 2 miles. How do I know this you ask... my 15 year old with autism counted them. Definitely do not do the shorter way that shows on Google maps from Gatlinburg, no service and dead-end was frustrating but the main route listed from the office is best way. The only view from cabin is trees. Overall it’s a nice cabin and we enjoyed our curves of a vacation once we got use to some things.

Bear Haven heaven
Beautiful view from the deck and enjoyed hanging out a couple days while it rained. The kids love the air hockey table and great kitchen space for the family to cook. If you’re looking for a place up in the hills, this is definitely a place for you to stay. The only thing we’d like to point out where the mattresses do need to be replaced. They were very lumpy and hard to sleep on. Plenty of supplies in the kitchen and large rooms.

Okay but hot tub dirty
It was okay but the hot tub was not very clean. We tried to get them to come back out and check the water and clean it but they never came. They said it was emptied and cleaned before we arrived but it was not. After one use, the hot tub water turned dirty from the slime settled on bottom of tub. Water Smelled dirty. Also the pull out couch mattress was very bad. Thin, warped, and bumpy. Not comfortable at all. Washer did not ring the water out at ended of wash. Had to ring out all the clothes after second attempt on spin cycle. Water pressure was also bad.

Needs updating
The cabin is in need of updating and minor repairs. Both mattresses need replaced!!! It needs basic house essentials: broom & dust pan, better silverware: the forks were baby sized, needs more cooking utensils, there were 2 pans to cook with. The freezer door would not pull out all the way. It was hard to get ice. The refrigerator temperature did not stay consistent. My father had to fix the dishwasher, the seal was broken and was in pieces in the dishwasher. There was not enough seating for 4 adults in the living room. The drains were clogged in the sink and tub in the bathroom with the washer and dryer. The door knob to one of the bedrooms was missing. There was dust everywhere....needs a deep clean.

Very dirty / cabin needs maintenance
When booking the cabin we were under the impression it was a little more secluded per the pictures. We should have called to verify, our fault, because upon arrival there were cabins all around us. You are required to look over the cabin within the first 2 hours of checking in for any issues and to let them know. We did call and let them know about a few things we noticed: there are rips in the felt on the pool table, dog hair on the couch and a rip on bottom of the chair in the living room and trash all around the trash bins outside. The only thing at that time we were bummed about was the pool table. We let them know and they offered to send someone out to clean the couch, we are dog people and had a dog of our own there so it was no big deal. Our first night we took showers and come to find out the shower on the left of the cabin doesn’t drain water as you are showering so you are standing in dirty water as you get clean. There is a rip in the curtain and the bottom of it was filthy from sitting in standing water. The washing machine also does not drain! After you wash your clothes you have to wring them out before using the dryer. There is cobwebs all over the cabin as well, it has not been dusted well in a long time. We decided to try out the hot tub... after having that on for maybe 30 min the jets stopped working! There are nails coming up all over the back deck as well so you have to wear shoes when going out there to get in the hot tub. Luckily we saw them before our kids went out there barefoot. So since the hot tub quit working we decided to use the jacuzzi tub on the left side bedroom, there was no stopper to keep the water in! There is trash all over the backside and side of the cabin from previous guests that no one decided to pick up, we picked up most of the trash around our trash bins outside. Overall, we were very disappointed with the cabin. For the amount of money we spent we expected everything to be clean, maintained and working. We will not book this cabin again.

It’s ok
When we arrived the cabin had not been cleaned at all. The beds still had the sheets on from the previous vacationer. The tubs had hair in them. The hot tub was foggy and DIRTY. When I called the front office they assured me someone would be there shortly and they delivered on that promise. The ladies that came to clean the house were thorough, quick, and so nice! They really made up for the mishap of the cabin being gross. After that our experience was really nice it was a cute little cabin that served the purpose we needed. The roads getting up there were a little bit confusing at first because when you google the address to get directions it doesn’t pull up anything. You have to follow the paper instructions that they provide at check in. This also creates a problem when you try to get anyone to deliver anything to you bc they can’t find the address either. Beyond all that we had fun the only other warning I can give is DO NOT use the green wash clothes they have. They bleed color so bad they turned out sons skin blue when we gave him a bath.
