lovely location, beautfully appointed
what a charming hotel. five stars in every category except one- which they are aware of and inform you of in advance. Since the hotel is in a pedestrian only section of town you've got to park the cxar and carry your bags. Not a terrible thing. Yet- on this same trip we encountered a similar situation in Porto only this hotel would send someone to meet you and bring in your bags. The Rua Vilar might think about it. Everything else is exceptional and the luggage lugging didn't dampen our spirits. Putting it in perspective a lot of folks come to this town after hiking for days or weeks on the Caminho de Capistrano so maybe this is intentional.

Very helpful, courteous, multilingual staff. Great location near the Santiago de Compostela basilica. Staff shared a map and marked points of interest to visit. Great room to relax in following check out to rest and await train departure time.

Hotel Rua Villar is a charming small hotel right in the heart of Santiago. It’s close the everything. Javier the front desk manager in the vending recommended a terrific restaurant nearby (A Barrolo). He lent me an adaptor so I could charge my phone. In the morning, there were very few cafes open for breakfast so it was great being able to eat at the hotels dining room. The place is clean, the people are warm and welcoming and overall this was a very good value for the experience. I would highly recommend Hotel Rua Villar.
