We were sadly only here for one night, but our loft room was SO cool, we actually ended up ditching the large king bed below and slept on the twin beds up top to watch the northern lights through the skylights up there. There were really cute horses on the property too when you enter, which was a huge unexpected bonus! It was close enough to the city for us with our rental car, yet very quiet and peaceful set back right on the water. 10/10 would definitely stay here again!
Quiet lodging a short drive from the city. Clean and a great area to see northern lights. Did not receive check in instructions via Expedia and had to contact property upon arrival. There seemed to be no staff on premises so I actually had to contact a sister property. A bit confusing.
The Fisherman’s Village was amazing. The staff are incredible and the views are immaculate. We stayed Nov 6-11 and saw the northern lights 3 out of 4 nights. Rooms were so warm, and the staff kept the grounds clean and comfortable while also staying in the background and allowing us the privacy we want on vacation. Seriously an amazing place, and if I were to come back to this area of Iceland there would be no question as to where I would stay.

Would not reccomend
We were so excited about this stay but it really did dissapoint. So much promise yet delivered so little.
-Hot tub was very lack-luster (dirty)
-Suggested restaurant was very far away and a far cry from the 'fun viking' themed night we were promised
-Empty shower gel in the shower
-No one around to ask/speak to
We had a great stay at the Fisherman’s Village! We stayed in November 2024 for 4 nights and we were able to see the Northern Lights almost every evening after returning from excursions. Check-in was done through the Viking Hotel and was quick and easy. Accommodations were great and we all had a fantastic stay. We loved that the village was out of the city and quiet. Beautiful water views!
The staff was friendly and gave us a lot of information about what we could do in the area). The room was clean. The area is beautiful with the famous Mt. Kirkjufell.
They didn’t inform me that the hotel was overbooked, so we couldn’t stay there as planned. I only found out when I reached out to ask about check-in. They offered us a room at another property they manage, called Hotel Viking, which is an outdated, older hotel.

I stayed here for over a total of three weeks, not a single issue or complaint. I could not ask for a better experience or for a more wonderful place to stay in Iceland, this place was perfect.
First of all these are not 'double rooms' as stated. These are double occupancy rooms meaning there is 1 main bed and then some have a couch bed and others have the twin beds in the loft but it is not a separate and private room. The rooms are clean and well taken care of. The staff worked with us and tried to keep us comfortable. Beautiful location. No dishes or much other than a kettle and fridge. mainly for a couple or possibly with 2 kids.
Huge rooms, really cool spot to stay and hang out. We could hear the group of teenagers staying in the room next to us, but it didn’t bother us at all since we were so tired lol Hot tubs and sauna on a roof of one of the buildings which was cool too. Huge room which would be perfect for kids!
We loved our stay at the Fisherman's Village - I wish we had more time to stay a few more nights as we loved the feel of the place and would love to spend more time there. I wish the hot tub was open later as we did not get back from our adventures until after 10 in the evening and it was not open again until 6pm. Morning hours for the hot tub would have been lovely!
Absolutely love what seclusion can bring when looking for the Northern light. This place is quiet and the staff is very nice. They even came knocking on our door to notify us when the appearance of the northern light. Taught how to use our phones to capture it. Thank You
