We loved the amazing location on the peninsula and how quiet and peaceful it was there! Our room was spacious and comfortable with lots of light. We didn't know how to work the ceiling window blinds. It was fine not having a "front desk" to call/visit, though it would have been nice so we could get additional coffee sticks and find out about the blinds. The grounds surrounding the rooms were amazing. It's so lovely to wake up on the water with Icelandic horses romping outside your door!
Very cool location, but know that you are far from the city. Very quiet! Patio out back. Clean and comfortable. Daily cleaning service. Restaurant on property is only open certain days and short hours. They were offering a buffet the day we were there.
This is a unique, out-of-the way property that offers unparalleled views of the open Atlantic and sunset. The rooms are charming, and the property is unique and beautiful. Just be aware that the restaurant is open only on weekends and that there is no coffee or breakfast on the property. As such, you need to plan ahead and bring groceries. And you definitely need a car.
This is a nice property but we’re not given any check in instructions. Our flight was delayed so we did not arrive until 11pm. We attempted to find a reception area… there was none. Difficult to get ahold of staff and even know where we were staying. Likewise there were no checkout instructions or staff available on site to assist. For the price point I would stay somewhere else.
Beautiful and unique property! Perfectly clean. Wonderful views! There is a popular restaurant on-site that wasn’t mentioned in the description, although it doesn’t have breakfast. The hot tub outside our room’s back door was inoperative) jets don’t turn on and it is ice cold). But we would stay here again!
We loved this unique property from the location to the decor. You were right on the water. There were horses around. The hot tubs were actually hot and robes were provided. The only disappointment we have is the tiny bathroom sink and the that we didn’t get to stay longer. We booked this property because of its location. It’s only 40 minutes from the Kevalik Airport. It’s definitely worth coming back to if we are ever in the area again.
The setting was beautiful and the unit was clean. However, there was only a one partial role of toilet paper, one cup serving of coffee, no extra towels, an empty soap dispenser in the shower. Since there is no staff on location this was not an easy problem to solve.
The most amazing view! It is right on the beach of black rocks and we had one of the best sunsets I ever saw at 10 pm. We visited at the beginning of August and it stayed light way longer because of Iceland’s location so far north. The blackout curtains help to go to sleep and stay asleep. Also be aware that the shower uses the natural water and a smell of the sulfur is present. I absolutely loved it!
