Stayed in a twin room with no bathroom, room was adequate for 1 night, however the sink was out of order and it didn't feel particularly clean. Shared bathrooms were ok. Great parking and was only a one night stop on our tour of Iceland. Nice restaurant down the road and breakfast was included which was great.
Lovely experience to stay in an old school with all the photographs of people who used to study and live there. A bit like staying in a museum. Breakfast was fantastic for the price:)
This was a really cool place to stay and was a really fun experience. I thought I would be uncomfortable with the shared bathroom but honestly it was fine. We were able to run out in the field at 1am to see the northern lights, and during the day you could see the ocean. It was really close to a pretty amazing waterfall, that you are able to walk to the top. Would definitely stay again.
Shared bathroom and shower for guests. There was also a shared tv room with a small fridge to put food in overnight. The water took several minutes to warm up and the pressure was low. The breakfast was good and the staff was friendly. Very close to one of the best waterfalls on the country, skagofoss. Also the northern lights were great

Disliked: Cleanliness
Bathrooms are often dirty. Guesthouse is mostly noisy till midnight. We had room 35B and the toilet next to it had the sink broken. Had to go all the way to the other side to wash hands. The only good part is the proximity to Skogafoss.
The guesthouse was brilliant, the staff was very friendly and the breakfast in the morning was a big bonus. It’s essentially a converted old-school so it has a lot of history and charm.
When we arrived, we were given a room that had a defective furnace, so the room was always heating. After speaking with the front desk, they instantly changed us rooms without hesitation.
Super awesome, very friendly people would definitely recommend.

Nice room. Shared bathroom is hotel quality. Parking is great and hotel staff was wonderful.
Awful place to stay. Room had sink out of order. Hot water took 10 minutes in the shower. Dreary room— very dormitory like! Yuck. You get what you pay for. Big mistake!! Would NEVER recommend although it’s mentioned in a lot of travel guides. Next to waterfall. Only redeeming feature and the adequate breakfast.
Nice and clean place and very helpful staff. They had a great spread for breakfast and the front desk clerk was kind enough to upgrade us to queen bed room free of charge.
This place was so noisy we could hardly sleep the walls were paper thin. I could hear the people in the hallways the livingroom area an the room next door. The bathrooms an showers were disgusting. Our beds were very hard an hair in the sheets an pillows. The onklly good thing about this place is the location 2 mins frum skogafoss an parking
I did not like that in pouring rain and 36 mph wind gusts ,after hauling our belongings into the building, we were told we are in the annex. Had to go back out and drive to the annex and back out in the rain and wind!
One men’s and one woman’s bathroom shared for 10 rooms, 2 shared showers. Tiny room- which was clean. Breakfast buffet was good.
The property appeared to be an old dorm and the rooms had the feeling of being back in university.
The room was clean and spacious. The bed sheet was very thin though and you could easily read the name of the mattress through the sheet.
The buffet had lots of options which included a variety of fresh fruit which we really appreciated.
Our main criticism was the showers. They were not clean - a pile of hair was in the drains and hairs on the shower walls and the floor was dirty - it needed a good scrub with bleach. We did a long hike that day and returned around 4:00 and went for a shower assuming they had been cleaned after everyone checked out by 11:00 am but we were very disappointed.
