Not as expected
Renting this property was easy,, however the ad said there was air conditioning,, and by the time I was informed that there wasn’t it was too late to cancel,, so we figured we would open windows,, the screens were torn,, so we could only open two windows until we had to duct tape the screen door and another window.. the patio screen was off its track so we didn’t use it after the first day.. the ad said there was a bbq,, we couldn’t find it,, owner said she would have her maintenance team look into it,, never heard from them,, all cooking then had to be done inside,, it was hot especially with NO air. Had to keep washing dishes,, as there were only 4 glass mugs and there was no drain tray or tea towels to dry the dishes.. the outdoor chairs are like for a school auditorium ,, not for lounging outside at all,, the brown wicker set with beige cushions was filthy with bug and bird droppings as was the plastic bench out on the lawn,, we should not have to clean those things.. the cottage itself needed a good hosing down,, the spider webs that are full of bug carcasses is not inviting at all. This cottage was not worth the price and I said so to the owner but have not heard back from her.

Nice waterfront cottage
We had a wonderful week in the cozy Silverwood cottage despite the disappointment of the waterfront which is not suited for swimming but is great for canoes/kayaks (not provided). McRae and Mara provincial parks are a few mins drive from the cottage. Both offer beaches with clear shallow water to swim in. The cottage grounds are very spacious and the view is beautiful. There are 3 office waiting room chairs around the fire pit, a picnic table and a white bench by the water but they are covered in bird droppings. The water to the garden hose was turned off so we couldn’t hose off the chairs. It would have been nice to have a couple of lounge chairs to enjoy the view and read a book. The cottage itself is very nice and the beds are very comfortable but the kitchen is not fully equipped. Be prepared to do dishes after each use or share cutlery (very minimal amount). Overall our family had a wonderful stay!😀
