The staff was very helpful when we needed them. It was right next to the station which let us get around easily. The area around the hotel is not the best but the price made up for it.

Would have given the hotel five stars, but the AC in my room was not working. The staff expressed (what seemed) sincere regret, but they could not change my room because they were full. Weather was hot. I was at the hotel for one night to transfer in the morning to the airport for a long-haul flight. (In short, I was there for a good night’s sleep.) AC was a prime reason for choosing the hotel. …Otherwise, I recommend the hotel. It’s clean, otherwise well appointed, and extremely well located for trips to/from Gare de l’Est.

Great Value and Better Location
This hotel is perfectly located at the front side of Gate de l’Est and even closer to the Metro 4 entrance #8 (20m to the entrance on the corner). If you are coming into the city from the airport, you come into Gare du Nord (10 minute walk or 2 min/one stop on the Metro), so you will want to take the Metro 4 and exit entrance #8 to save the walk with your luggage. The room was small but no smaller than a comparable room in a city like NYC. The bathroom only has a sliding door and is not at all private once inside (not a problem just need to be aware). We had a double and twin for 3 people but there was enough room to move around a little and small closet if you are staying awhile. Also a TV and a small desk we could play 2 person cards on. Hotel staff were friendly and helpful and let me use my simple French if I wanted to but also spoke fluent English. Only complaint, the tub did not drain until after a shower was well finished.

Really great cheap hotel close to Gare du Nord and Gare de L'Est, nothing fancy - perfect for a quick overnighter, or even a few days. Great location, can take the metro anywhere. Pretty clean. Room is small but that's very normal for Paris. It has AC, and service is great.

Good location for Gare de l'Est
We chose this hotel primarily for its' location - early departure from Gare de l'Est on our second morning. We found the hotel clean (impressed with the lady on her hands & knees cleaning the feet on the restaurant tables!) and the staff we spoke to were friendly and efficient. Breakfast was a bit limited. The main downside was the room size, it was okay for 2 nights
