Wow, planet Hollywood did not disappoint. The reviews we read were nothing like the service and treatment we had. We booked a star service, our private concierge Wilson had everything for us! If we ever needed anything , we communicated it to him and the entire hotel staff knew and jumped to service making it effortless for us to enjoy ourselves and plans. The food, the resort, the staff, exceptional!!

This hotel is far from a 5 star experience! This is our 4th time to Costa Rica and from the moment I arrived into the property we were disappointed. You arrive and are forced to walk down a dirty red carpet while being shoved a martini glass full of water downed juice while all the staff claps at you while they take pictures. It felt cheesy and outdated and I could tell we were not liking it- But we decided to go with it, grab a drink in the lobby as we went to our room. You have to take run downed golf carts driven by staff to get around from the lobby, pool, restaurants. We arrived to our jr. Ocean front suite. The view was pretty but immediately over shadowed by the hot mess foam party at the main pool. Loud music, staff on microphones. I looked around the room and found smears on mirrors, coffe tables and a dirty band aid under one of the sinks. The bed pillows are supposed to be white- they were dingy. The online pic of the room did not look at all what we had. The bed had 0 decorative pillows. The tv is old and super pixilated. We had a horrible smell coming out of the drain in one of the bathroom sinks. I immediately went to the lobby and called Expedia- which did not help us at all. We talked to the manager who was rude and asked us what did we expect it’s a family all inclusive. I said I expected a Marriott 5 Star property that is clean and semi relaxing. I could go on and on but I’m running out of space to type the rest! Don’t go

Property was really nice but really hilly. Lucky for tourists they had carts to get people where they needed to go. Pool area is very nice with staff bending backwards to make sure you were well taken care of. Those hard working people through out the resorts were the real stars. Outside the resort is nonexsistant, absolutely nothing going on. Have to try and hope you could get a paid ride into Coco Beach to get any type of night life and dining and get a ride back to the resort. This was a big turnoff. Your basically in for the day if you can secure ride. The upselling of everything and anything is ridiculous , you have to pay for this and that. Just Nicole and dining. Will not be coming back.

The resort is nice with beautiful beach and nature surrounding it. The entertainment is amazing. The in season price is too high. The resort is ok, but not extra luxury and not worth the price.

Underwhelming
Star Class was the upsell, however, the result is like having a cheese and crackers for every meal because all the other food is either spoiled or unavailable. SoCal is the best eating option. Don’t trick yourself into thinking Teppan or the Steakhouse was the best. I will say this if you get a concierge from Star Class, pick Jorley. She was amazing to my family and I we can’t rave enough about her service altogether. If you can afford it, choose Andaz or Four Seasons. Planet Hollywood took over an existing property and while aesthetically they tried their best they don’t get it at all. The spas services were subpar as well overall it was not worth the price. Then again it’s my fault for booking a last minute Christmas vacation for my family for 2024

Let me start by saying that overall I had a good trip. I also should have realized that a hotel called Planet Hollywood would not be my general vibe. Maybe I should have also realized that all inclusive meant silly things like à la carte restaurants that you have to sign up for, and rules around it that make no sense (like you can’t book more than one day in advance). Unfortunately, I found the buffet that you had most of your meals at not very good, which definitely impacted my overall stay. There should be more options for breakfast and lunch then just going to the buffet, which has the same food every single day. There should also be more healthy options. There should also be more options at the pool including being able to get a coffee. It blows my mind you had to go up to the main lobby all the way up the hill for that. Service was hit or miss. Not being able to get a drink for extended periods of time at the restaurants was extremely frustrating. I wasn’t wild about how loud the pool area could be given the DJ and activities but it was overall good The beach area was disappointing as the water was very shallow and murky, probably because they are at the end of the bay. Finally, the cost of some things outside the all inclusive piece were offensive. Ex over $250 Canadian for a half hour massage. As I said, however, I had a good trip. The rooms were beautiful as was the view. The hotel was clean and very nice. My highlight were the excursions, which cost extra.

Dislike- Fuel coffee shop hours, no shrimp options, no chairs on the actual beach, steep hills, not allot of activities and ZERO nightlife! Like- Johan the butler. They provided excellent service! OT served very good sports bar food, when Fuel was open the ice cream was delicious! The overall service was very good.

The resort itself was beautiful. The grounds well kept. The staff was wonderful. Everyone was friendly and knowledgeable. Although the choices were plenty, the food options left something to be desired. It was my least favorite part of the experience. The spa was great and service was excellent there too. I enjoyed the evening entertainment options, but everything shuts down by 10pm which kind of leaves you bored at the end of the night. The sports bar helped somewhat by staying open late, but I would recommend considering an adults only option for after hours. People are on vacation and don't necessarily want to be in bed that early.
