Beautiful and historic hotel. Large, lovely rooms, Friendly and capable hotel staff, especially at the front desk. The lobby and the bars are lovely. Pool is very nice and also historic. Their Valet parking is ridiculously expensive and their other lot was full on NYE. I recommend parking at the National Art Centre, across the street. Book ahead for dining as the restaurants were quite booked. If you any allergies or food sensitivities, I would HIGHLY recommend not dining at their overpriced buffet at Wilfreds. There were clear concerns and miscommunications with regard to nut allergies, even though we alerted our server AND the chef. The dessert buffet, although having a lovely sign listing all the desserts and whether or not they were nut and gluten free, was dangerously cross-contaminated and the desserts were not marked individually, so you couldn't tell which were which. There are nicer restaurants in the vicinity.

We booked a room requesting one with a bathtub. The hotel was extremely busy when we arrived. We got our room 170. Unfortunately no bathtub. Being as it was New Years Eve & hotel appeared to be fully booked I didn’t go to front desk & request a room with bathtub. Our room was beautiful. We are staying at the residence on the civic campus while my husband awaits a match for heart transplant & booked a night out just to feel normal for awhile before we head back to reality. All in all a beautiful nite & we would book there again.

Not great value for the cost… While the building is beautiful and the architecture amazing the rooms are old and tired. Valet was disastrous… The staff at check in were quick but didn’t outline important details about property. Wifi password, pool location, dining options…the pool area needs a deep cleaning and change rooms need a major overhaul. Our room was small and beds too small for family of 4…tubs in bathroom need to be replaced, toilet needed to be fixed and the hot water didn’t work correctly. Hotel only had valet for car, took 2 hrs get our car at check out. It would have seemed logical to at least provide coffee at the lounge to guests while waiting…
