Welcome to the perfect home base in Ocean Bay Park for your next Fire Island vacation! Ideally located a short walk from the beach, ferry, and restaurants, this home is convenient to all the nearby attractions. Ferry service from Bay Shore lands you in the heart of the Ocean Bay Park commercial district, which gives off a bohemian and breezy vibe. Downtown Ocean Bay Park features bay-front dining, a grocery store, and a bicycle rental shop.

The kitchen features white cabinetry, and stainless steel appliances. Fully equipped for your use, there is also a coffee maker, microwave, dishwasher, toaster, dishware, glassware and pots & pans. The indoor dining table accommodates six guests and there is comfortable living room seating with room for the whole family to relax. The four bedrooms can easily accommodate ten people; two have queen- sized beds, and the other two each have three single beds. In addition, there are two newly renovated full bathrooms, both with spacious standing showers.

We got to the house and it was a lovely house, in a great location. The garbage outside had meat and other garbage not in bags. The storm door was broken which we fixed ourselves, the floor was full of sand, the air conditioner in the kitchen didnt blow cold air and the fan in the ktchen didnt work either, the remote was nowhere to be found. I think some of our money should be refunded.

There were many parts of this property that were very nice but it has some significant drawbacks. There is a strong musty smell in the back bedrooms and there is standing water under the house. I would not stay here if you have any kind of lung sensitivity or smell sensitivity. If you don’t, there are many nice parts of the house and amenities (bikes, wagon, nice beach chairs) that can make it a very nice stay. We had some trouble with checking in (code did not work) but on site staff was very helpful and fixed the issue within a couple hours.

Dishwasher, microwave, dryer, convection oven, shower door, closet door, storm door and one of the air conditioners all broken. When we raised this with the management company, we received absolutely no response despite calling and texting multiple times. DO NOT RENT if you care about getting what you pay for.

Great Property
My husband and I stayed here as the final week of our COVID honeymoon and the place/location was everything we wanted! Our biggest complaint and the reason we gave 4 stars instead of 5 is because we specifically chose this rental for the bikes and grill. Out of the 4 adult bikes at the house, none were in working order and the grill was perfect, but despite a full propane tank, would not stay lit (even when we used a grill lighter to ignite it).

Traditional Fire Island house but needs some love
This is a traditional Fire Island house - simple construction, great room, small bedrooms, narrow hallways. Very nice deck and outdoor shower. It was end of the season, but there were a number of small maintenance issues - a number of missing screens, which forced us to use the air-conditioning, even though it was cool. 7 or 8 bikes, none of which had air (no air pump) or were rideable (busted seats, bent frame, etc.). But, overall, still a nice house.

rant great place with plenty of room. Kitchen could have been stocked a bit better but was still clean and neat. Bicycles at the house do not work so you have y To rent for sure. Plenty of beach chairs for guests, but umbrellas did not work and outdoor table had no umbrella. Aside from these small easy fixes, location was great, recently renovated bathrooms great and the house is small but feels way more s p across them other FI rentals.

Would stay at 10 Cayuga again!
This was our first time on Fire Island (5 adults, 2 teenagers, 1 infant, 2 dogs). Close to store and restaurants, close enough to walk to Ocean Beach. House held us all comfortably. No complaints at all. Plenty of towels, beach chairs, umbrella, sand toys. Would definitely recommend and we would stay here again!

The property wasn’t as nice as the pictures and the cleanliness off the place was subpar. The area was outstanding though and the overall stay was fabulous. The convenience of the property to store,bars ,beach, and ferry were amazing.

Needs some serious TLC
From the listing and price our expectations of the property were high. We’ve rented in Fire Island for over a decade and are well aware of what a true beach house is. However, things like broken appliances, broken furniture, uncomfortable mattresses and dirty linens are simply not typical of a beach house. The barbecue was not working even though we attempted to get help twice to fix it. There are plenty of beds and overall the house has great potential the problem is is that it’s not properly maintained. A little TLC would go along way and make this a much more enjoyable property. Unfortunately, we would not rent this location again in its current condition. The upsides? Location, a good deck, lots of beach chairs and outdoor shower.
