The building doesn't have an elevator. I had to carry my very heavy suitcase up the first flight of stairs to reception because there wasn't any signage on the ground floor to indicate that anyone was available to help me. The room only had unpleasant overhead lighting, no lamps, including on the nightstands. No dresser for small clothing items, just shelves.

I showed up an hour before official check in time. They charged me an extra $30 to get in my room. The room was ready and sitting there empty. No bar or restaurant on site. I won’t stay there again ever.

No so good. There was not an elevator we were told the bellman would grab our luggage. Still waiting. The air conditioning unit is very loud. The fire alarm went off twice in the middle of the night. Pictures make this hotel look spectacular not so much when you arrive

Great potential, needs better guest experience
This is a 4 floor walk up, thats not very clear so be warned. Great location, very new, super quiet from the street. Lots of pluses for sure! However, they have a 'loud door' problem where every door slams so hard and loud its super disruptive to sleep. Then, combined with the fact they dont have coffee in the rooms, means you are climbing several flights of stairs with hot coffee, and everyone that gets up in the mornign to get coffee is slamming their door multiple times. Solution: coffee in the rooms.

Room started dirty and stayed that way.
DIRTY BEDCLOTHES AND TOWELS - COVERED IN HAIR. The duvet doesn't have any sort of cover on it - extremely unhygienic. There was an unbelievable amount of hair under the flat sheet, of varying lengths and colours and textures. Dirty towel. NO/POOR BEDROOM FACILITIES. No fridge; the TV menu doesn't work very well (you have to go in and out of channel menus to scroll through the channels); TV channel quality is poor (the screen is often heavily pixelated). And there is no phone to call down to reception, which is a big inconvenience with no lift. ALARM IN ROOM WENT OFF Alarm clock which went off at 5:57 am. Fun. When I checked into the hotel, I was told to ask for room service in the morning, which I thought was confusing that you'd have to order room service each morning. When I noticed there was no phone in the room, it made more sense. However they DO NOT HAVE ROOM SERVICE. What the receptionist meant was, if you want to have your room cleaned you need to tell them each morning. I found this out when I came home after the first day and my room hadn't been made up. I then requested it but it was only made up on 1 day. LISTED AS FOUR STAR HOTEL HERE but on their own site, only three stars. FYI there is no lift/elevator in this building, so this is not for you if you have accessibility issues, or a baby pushchair, or heavy luggage.

Lots of visible hairs of varying lengths, colours, and textures in the bedclothes - this was after the bedroom had been made up, on the only day they made it up

Great location near Soho and Nolita with a train stop around the corner. The room was nice and spacious. The only drawback was that there was no elevator so carrying your luggage up stairs wasn't easy.

The hotel itself was fine. The rooms on the second floor are extremely noisy. It's a great location for so many things but that proximity also means you hear the best and worst of NYC all night long.

There’s a fine line between boutique and shabby. This hotel- largely because of what it charges- falls the wrong side. It looks dated, it is dark and it feels dingy. There are skirting boards literally falling off the wall and the whole place smells like it has been placed in a virtual can of air freshener. Service is indifferent. Big thumbs up for oat milk with the free coffee (even though it ran low every day we were there). Note for staff- don’t say “check with us for room service”. You mean (for Brits anyway) “chamber service”.

Hip in the Bowery
Hip hotel in old, historic building in the Bowery. Comfortable room with beautiful exposed brick and industrial vibe. No elevator, so be ready for a couple of flights of stairs. Street noise, but hey, that's New York.
