The Pod Hotel gets props for understanding how to create a vibe and sense of community even amongst groups of traveling strangers. The use of good design, art, lighting, and soundtrack, all meld into a very welcoming scene. The rooms, while small and spartan, are meant for sleeping, showering, and getting out to do your work. The Pod Brooklyn is no exception to the rule for this small chain.
Despite being in a large and busy city, you can get a quiet night's sleep at the Pod.
I have been on a tour of low-cost Brooklyn hotels of late and the Pod Brooklyn is by far my favorite. The only reasons for not giving all five-star ratings is that the property is undergoing some renovations at the moment which meant there is no onsite access to food and the coffee service (which is part of your paid package) was so poorly accommodated due to space as to be impractical if you are in the least bit of a morning hurry. I suspect however, that this is temporary as I saw work being done while I was there recently.
