Great location. Balcony has a fantastic view of the castle. Breakfast was delicious and had a lot of variety. Staff very friendly, and has a luggage drop. Bed was very comfortable. Will definitely stay again.

Weekend getaway
The City Hotel is located in a great location and has all comforts needed for a nice stay. The room size was ample and the bathroom was large as well with a comfortable shower There were hooks and shelves to keep your belongings. There were 2 suitcase benches and plenty of space on the desk and in closet. When the hairdryer failed, the staff quickly brought up a handheld replacement. It was a fantastic choice for a weekend away near the city center.

Excellent location, well maintained hotel. City center, restaurants are a walking distance from the hotel. Rooms are large and clean. People are friendly and helpful. Breakfast is excellent. The only complaint is that air conditioning is not working in October. One has to rely upon open windows and streets are loud at night.

The staff were really friendly and the room was nice and clean. It was a bit warm in the room and the air conditioner was at the lowest setting possible. I would have liked it a bit cooler, but I managed. The breakfast was delicious and many options to choose from.

We have stayed here several times, and it never disappoints! Staff is very friendly, and the hotel is always CLEAN from the lobby to the room. We love City Hotel for its convenient location that is quiet and extremely walkable. Rooms are perfectly equipped and beds/pillows amazing!

Hotel is top quality with a value price set correctly. They upgraded us to a nice room. Nice amenities including an umbrella which was needed. Parking was 10EU a night in a garage, reasonable. Nice gym. Location is excellent to visit lovely city. The breakfast buffet included in the price was over the top. Best i have seen in my travels.

I waited until after my trip to review this property to give myself some time to reflect. I personally didn't have the best experience but that is just one opinion. The room was hot and the AC had been turned off for the season (this was the end of Sept). No one had told me when the season ended and that if I tried to cool the room it would actually make it hotter. My room went from 23 degrees to 26 in a couple of hours. I can't sleep in heat like that and was already jet-lagged. I called the front desk they said there was nothing to do and to open a window but as I was a woman traveling alone (which I told them) and there was a roof right below my window with empty beer bottles, I didn't feel comfortable sleeping with a large window open. I also had an issue with my safe. I recorded myself putting the code in just to make sure I got it right. When I was quite hot I thought I would ask to move to another room or perhaps go to another hotel so I could sleep but my safe wasn't opening and again the front desk said there was nothing they could do until morning (this was about 10pm). So even if I wanted to leave, I couldn't as my passport etc. were in the safe. In the morning someone did come to open it and even they had an issue getting it open so it wasn't just my code that wasn't working. I understand this is just my experience but I wanted to be honest. Double-check your safe and if you go during the 'off-season' but it's hot, you may not be able to cool your room.

It was my first time in Ljubljana and the staff was very helpful. They recommended a restaurant that was great and reasonable in terms of price. The hotel is located near the river, the Old Town, and the Castle. Everything thing I was interested in was in walking distance. The breakfast is about the best I've ever seen provided by a hotel!
