This unique 24-acre resort property located right on the edge of the Town of Duck, NC, sits between the Ocean and the Sound, and offers access to both. This is arguably one of the best locations in the Outer Banks for convenience and walking / biking proximity to multiple activities and dining options.

THE SPACE

From your unit you can walk, bike, or drive to the Beach, Outdoor pool area, and the Sound. Or you can walk / bike to the village of Duck and shop or dine along the 1-mile boardwalk located along the Sound. In the evenings try not to miss some of the spectacular sunsets over the Sound.

This is a two level 3BR/3BA Lock-off unit located in the 800 Building on the 3rd and 4th floors. One of the best features of this specific unit is the outstanding Ocean and Pool views from the windows and decks, and the amount of space it provides for the entire family, both indoors and outdoors on 2 large decks.

A Side - 3rd / 4th Floors - Full Kitchen with Stove, Oven, Refrigerator, Dishwasher, Microwave, Coffee Maker, Toaster, Blender, etc. Sit up bar / 4 stools, Dining Table / 6 chairs, Large Family room with Loveseat and Sleeper sofa, Full Bathroom with Shower / Tub combo, Bedroom with King bed, Large deck with excellent view of the Ocean and Pool, providing plenty of room for the family. 4th Floor - Very Large Bedroom with 2 Twin Beds, and plenty of room for extra sleeping. 2nd Bathroom with Shower / Tub combo.

B Side - 3rd Floor - Living Room area with Sleeper sofa, Dining Table / 4 chairs, Kitchenette with Mini Fridge, Microwave, Coffee Maker, Toaster, Blender, etc., Master bedroom with Queen bed, 3rd Bathroom with Shower / Tub combo, and another Large deck w / Scenic Garden view and great views of the Sunsets over the Sound in the evenings.

This 3BR unit at approximately 1,700sq ft and is rated to sleep at least ten (10) persons. There is a Washer / Dryer inside your unit.

OCEAN / POOL VIEW CATEGORY:

The resort itself is Beachfront and this specific unit located in the 800 Building (see property map in the pictures section), has an outstanding Pool and Ocean views from the unit and the outdoor deck. This 800 Buildings are also the ones closest to the Beach.

From your 3rd floor floor unit you have one very large deck, with a direct view of the Pool and Ocean, where you can enjoy watching the Sunrise over the Ocean and the Sunsets over the Sound every afternoon. Then there is another good sized deck on the other side of the unit with a scenic Garden View offering even better views of the Sunsets over the Sound. Great outdoor space available with this unit.

It is possible to walk to the Resort’s private Beach access, but since this is a large 24+acre property that stretches from Sound to the Ocean, it can be a longer walk to the beach from certain sections of the resort versus other areas.

If you have a lot of beach gear, or small children, it might not be practical to walk to the beach from this unit in the summer heat (between 1/8 mile to 1/4 mile depending on unit location). Your best option might be to drive to the parking area right near the Outdoor Pool and Beach access. This private parking area is reserved for Resort guests where you can conveniently drop off your family and gear, or even park in the spaces provided if one is available.

STAIRS / ACCESSIBILITY:

Most properties in OBX have a certain number of stairs, so that buildings are elevated and protected in case of potential flooding that could be caused by hurricanes or major storms.

Almost all the units at this resort have a certain number of stairs leading to the Front Door of the unit. Some have interior stairs to a 2nd level, or depending on the specific unit configuration, as few stairs up or down to one of the bedrooms inside the unit. The number of stairs varies depending on the specific unit configuration, and whether the unit is considered first floor, second floor, or third floor. Typically the higher you go the better your view is from the outdoor decks and windows.

BIS-Duck Resort will provide assistance carrying your luggage / baggage to your unit if you would like some help.

UNIT INTERIORS:

This property was originally constructed in the late 1980's and early 1990's. Recently a $8+ Million dollar renovation project was started, and expected to be completed in phases thru 2022/2023.

Until the entire renovation is completed, resulting in every unit interior being renovated, you will find most unit interiors are spacious and comfortable but very dated. So while personally I would describe this overall property as very laid back, relaxed, and comfortable, it is important to note that these units definitely have more of a rustic, almost like a dated cabin at the beach type feel, with older furniture and carpets. Hopefully the photos provided give you a general understanding for what I am describing.

The benefits offered by this resort are the overall amenities, including one of the largest outdoor pool areas on OBX. Next to the pool area there is an onsite Sea Glass Snack Shack serving stuff like burgers and hot dogs, beverages, and water ice. By the summer of 2022 the Sea Glass Snack Shack is expected to have licensing to also serve some alcoholic beverages.

This property is definitely one of the most unique on OBX, with direct access to the both the Beach and the Sound, and in very close proximity to the many shops and restaurants in the Town of Duck. You also benefit from these spacious units being priced lower than comparable options of the same size in the area.

Many families enjoy their annual vacations at this property, however if you are a traveler that requires more luxurious accommodations, this may not be the right choice for you, and you might want to consider one of the more expensive listings available.

I am not trying to sound negative, because personally we enjoy this property, I just want to make sure your expectations match reality. So if you have any specific questions on this please don't hesitate to ask.

GUEST ACCESS

Your unit is private, but since this is a Resort property, amenities will be shared with other guests (Pools, Hot Tub, Gym, Beach, Outdoor Games, etc).

OTHER THINGS TO NOTE

- Primary Guest checking in must be at least 21 years of age with a valid ID and credit card for security deposit. If a security deposit is required, it will be returned to you after Check Out if you have not made any charges to your room.

- Barrier Island Station – Duck is professionally managed and operated by Vacation Resorts International (VRI). The Front Desk is staffed for Check-In, Check-Out, and is available for any questions, issues, or need for assistance during your stay.

- Check In time is 4:00pm and check out time is 10:00am. Please check with the resort Front Desk for any possibility of earlier unit availability and / or early use of the resort amenities during check-in days.

- Late Check In: The Front Desk / Office is open from 8am to 7pm. If you arrive after those hours you can go to the Security office and get access to your unit. Then the following morning you will need to go to the office by 11am to get officially signed in and receive your parking passes, information, etc.

- Up to three FREE parking passes are included with this unit, which you will receive from the Front Desk at Check In. If you need parking for an additional vehicle you can arrange this directly with the Front Desk.

- Bedding linens, including blankets, sheets, and pillows are provided. However, if have you have any favorites blankets or pillows, or if you sleep better using a certain type of pillow, it would be good to bring your own.

- If you plan on using the Sleeper sofas during your stay, I definitely recommend bringing your own sheets, pillows, and blankets, maybe even a mattress pad for the Sleeper sofa specifically, which can be turned into a very comfortable extra bed.

- Bath and Hand towels are provided for you and will be inside your unit when you arrive.

- There is no daily housekeeping provided. However your unit does have it's own Washer / Dryer in the unit that is for your use only. If additional housekeeping is desired during your stay it is available for an additional fee scheduled directly with the resort Front Desk.

- Each Guest will receive a "Starter Package" from the Front Desk at Check In. This will have basic supplies like toilet paper, paper towels, detergent, etc to get you thru the first day or two of your stay. However it is highly recommended to bring additional PAPER products (toilet paper, paper towels, paper plates, etc) and your own CLEANING products (detergents, cleaners, hand sanitizer, disinfectant wipes, etc).

- Pool / Beach towels are not provided. Each family should bring their own pool / beach towels

- You should bring your own beach chairs / beach blankets / umbrellas / equipment you want to use on the beach. If you don’t bring your own stuff, you are able to rent beach chairs / umbrellas on the beach out in front of the facility.

- If you or any members of your family enjoy bike riding, I strongly recommend taking your own bikes (if you have the means to do so). Bikes are a great way to move around the resort, and also ride into the Town of Duck. Bike rentals in Duck are available if you don't bring your own.

- Pets are not permitted anywhere on or in the resort property.
During your stay at this condo building, you're just a quick walk from Duck Boardwalk. Features include an indoor pool, a gym, and a water park. The condo includes amenities such as a kitchen and a washer/dryer.
