We had a great stay at Jim's lovely apartment. We enjoyed the lanai, the sunsets, the outdoor shower, the well stocked kitchen, to close access to Kailua Kona. It was spacious and comfortable. We found a route to walk to downtown that avoided the busy road (go up to the Tea Licious parking lot and at the other side of the parking lot you will see a pathway to a road where you can easily find a sidewalk on which to travel safely into the town. We enjoyed this walk.
One thing to note if you, like us, are new to the kind of sunscreen that is used on the Hawaiian islands--be very cautious with the spray sunscreen as it can make a big mess if you spray it on the lava stones near the outdoor shower. For Jim's sake, please learn from our mistake and do not spray suncreen inside the house, near the house, or near the outdoor shower.
Jim was a kind and responsive host. Thank you Jim for hosting us, for providing a beautiful place to enjoy the big island, and also those amazing mangoes.
