Staff is amazing. Over the top polite and friendly. Property needs a deep clean and or refresh soon but still clean, just worn a bit showing her age. She’s a beauty though and our favorite place in Waikiki to stay.

The Royal Hawaiian kind of seems like it’s resting on its history. The pool is a total joke (which we were prepared for) so we spent a lot of time at the Sheraton pool when not at the beach. It was just not a complete resort experience if you are going to a different pool to play and eat by the pool. The food at the Royal Hawaiian was also very limited. The Lua’l was also very overpriced and while the performance was very good, the food service was horrible. We paid just under $200 per ticket for the children and the waiter argued with my wife and I that if we let them eat the normal food and didn’t choose the kids chicken tenders we were making a big mistake”. Overall, the grounds are beautiful, but the staff didn’t really seem to be attending to their guests (accept bell hops at the traffic circle who were great). We’d probably try to Westin or Sheraton next time.

Everything about our stay was exceptional. This resort is truly the best destination in Honolulu. The rooms were impeccably cleaned daily, and the entire property beautifully preserved its historic charm. The beach was pristine and breathtaking, just steps from our room. Whether you're visiting as a couple or with family, this is the perfect Hawaiian getaway. We can't wait to return!

It was so lovely in every way for us. Excellent location and service. It was great for a couples stay. I would maybe think of another option for family stay. The swimming pool is lovely but small and more like a adult pool.

The Good-Beautiful grounds and hotel. Extremely comfortable beds. Fantastic location. The Bad-Lobby furniture was stained and looked dirty. The room furniture was very worn. The extra daily “entertainment “ fee was a mystery as to what it was for. Requested a late checkout but that was an additional $200.00 Nice hotel but we felt it was overpriced and at best a 4 star

The outstanding room service and pool service personnel do a great job of making their guests feel like family. The gardens are gorgeous and well maintained. Very relaxing. The property cleanliness, history and all of the staff are fantastic. If you have a family member with celiacs or are gluten free, the food options in Waikiki are VERY few. The resort has GF toast. That’s it. The dinner option at the resort is a 5 course set menu that wasn’t very appealing but incredibly expensive. We ended up eating dinner at the same restaurant four out of six nights (very good Thai restaurant). Most of our meals were what we could put together at an ABC store (convenience store). There’s one on every block doing a banner business selling pre-packaged food. For us: One and done for Hawaii.

Everyone was so welcoming from the lobby staff to the staff giving out towels by the swimming pool. We also were given a free upgrade. The bed was so comfortable as were the robes and towels. Our only issue was that we should have booked more nights instead of only 2. Next time we will stay much longer!

The Royal Hawaiian has never disappointed me ever. Incredibly friendly, clean and the bakery is always a must. Definitely recommend the historical tour.

It’s gorgeous. It’s the most beautiful hotel I’ve ever stayed in. When you walk in, the bell person picks up your suitcase and helps you in. They also give you a real lei as you walk in too, made of real flowers. There are no doors whatsoever, so the gorgeous Hawaiian breezes flow in and out of the entire hotel. The hotel backs up in to the Pacific Ocean. There are ample amounts of stores and restaurants on the property itself, but also within walking distance is the International Market Place as well as everything Kalakaua Ave has to offer. The amenities are plentiful. Hotel is extremely clean. Showers, bed/bedding, etc all very luxurious and comfortable. 10/10 recommend
