Had never stayed at a Virgin property. Liked everything. Our room was nicely laid out, and the hotel is in a great part of town, perfect for doing those things in Chicago visitors want to do. Next time in Chicago, we stay at Virgin.

This property is in a great spot - it's so walkable to many different attractions such as tourist spots, and also great dining. We loved the location. Additionally, the property was excellent. We felt like royalty.

Staff was great! From the valet, front desk, cleaning crew and restaurant staff. We had a mini getaway for the bears game and this was perfect.

Rooms are good size and clean. Even though its close to the L Train you can barely hear it inside the room. A little weird not having the bathroom closed from the room with a door. The toilet is in a closet with a door but the door does not close fully. And when trying to use the Hot water it takes 5-10 minutes of running the water to get Hot. Very wasteful, time-consuming, and forget about washing your hands or brushing teeth with warm water. The room does contain a mini bar and snack tray but the staff will remove if not wanted. We went two blocks away to CVS to buy our own snacks and drinks.

We loved the hotel from the minute we walked in to the minute we checked out. The theme is rockstar and it is evident. My husband and I had a room with a view and it was spectacular. The uniquely designed bed was comfy and allowed us to see the cityscape while lounging. The bathroom was spa like with a separate area for the toliet and a vanity. The rainfall shower was a 10/10! The 26th floor was lit! Bright lights ,a DJ, great view and a nice vibe. The food at Miss Ricky’s was amazing! We didn’t have to venture out to look for dinner options or breakfast the next morning. Service was outstanding as everyone was kind and helpful, from the valet to the front desk to the waiter and waitress. Perfect spot for a luxurious staycation!

When I checked in, there was an amenity(?) fee of around $300 USD. There needs to be more overt disclosure/notice about that prior to check-in. Also, a more thorough explanation on the reason behind said fee. Especially since the price per night is supposed to reflect luxury. There were a few pros: room was nice, love the modern look. The bed was comfortable and clean to the eye. The layout of the room was unique. Housekeeping staff was nice. I also like the wood floors! Particularly in room 1001, there is a window that faces a parking lot. It’s quite close, so it feels like people/cars can see me. This window DID NOT have blackout blinds, so there was no way to block the light/view. There was another window that had blackout blinds in this room, I don’t know why both windows couldn’t have blackout blinds. Is this not a luxury boutique hotel? Overall, the room did what I needed it to do. Expedia said to expect a quality stay, however I wouldn’t consider this hotel a luxury or quality stay. I feel like they only say that because there’s a cute little SMEG fridge in your “chamber” filled with overpriced snacks and drinks that you still have to pay additional for. I didn’t bother with any of the services bc I don’t wanna pay more after that ridiculous check-in fee. The gym was the only amenity I used. It doesn’t justify the $300 One of the room features they advertise was having outlets in convenient places. That is a standard, not a luxury. It’s a mediocre hotel at best.

The experience began on a frustrating note when the hotel overbooked our reservations, resulting in our placement at a neighboring hotel. While the alternative accommodation was satisfactory, the situation was less than ideal. We were informed that we could check into our new room at noon, coinciding with our checkout time from the previous hotel. This arrangement proved inconvenient, as it required us to repack our suitcases and adjust our schedule accordingly. To compound matters, our room was not ready by the promised check-in time of noon; in fact, it was not prepared until 3 PM. Although we were offered a complimentary upgrade, we were still charged the full price for our stay. I was unable to speak with a manager until the following day to discuss a potential refund for the inconveniences we encountered.
