We enjoyed our stay at Cairns Colonial Club Resort. It’s the perfect place if you want to relax and have everything on your door step. Swimming pools, playground, restaurants, cafe….but if you want to explore it’s not far from the city or main road north.

Easy and short drive from the airport, room is very average- old and small shower, nothing there to be delighted. We used this place as a transitional stay due to late flight arrival to Port Douglas the next day. It worked.

Grounds are nice but probably due for an update - still the same from 15 years ago. Rooms are basic but has the essentials, again probably due for an upgrade. Phone Reception/wifi wasn’t the best but not the end of the world. Good location and only 10 minute drive to the esplanade. Good if you’re on a budget. Staff were friendly.

The place is family orientated don't choose for a quiet getaway or a business stay, it's very noisy the rooms walls are paper thin, you can hear people sneeze in the adjacent room. I had food at their pool cafe on arrival and it was terrible so the rest of the stay I decided to not eat in their restaurants and dine elsewhere in Cairns.
