We team to escapee a hurricane on very short notice s could not shop around. This hotel had a good rating so we booked it. The owners seemed clueless, had to change our room because the safe was broken and the shower produced a pathetic dribble of water. DO NOT RECOMMEMEND. Overpriced for the value!

Loved the view of the national mall, hearing the national anthem in the morning and taps at sunset from tne Naval Observatory near by. Great neighborhood. It's walkable if you dont mind hills. Metro rail stop about 20 min walk away . Room was light and bright. The italian resturant offtge hotel lobby served delicuous food.

The hotel is nicely set in a beautiful older neighborhood close to good restaurants. The restaurant on site is very good and has recently changed. The desk staff is friendly. A couple of issues that should be addressed are that the key cards don’t work very well and lose their magnetism so I was constantly having to redo my card. I travel a lot so I use them regularly and I’m aware that phones can affect them. However, this was after every use. There’s chipped paint on the wood panel under the sink counter and there was mildew staining on the shower floor. It would be great if another towel bar or more hooks could be installed for towels. This seems to be a trend with all hotels where they make it hard to hang multiple towels.
