Perfect location for wandering around Victoria….kitchen is an added bonus. Also the umbrellas were much appreciated! Cora’s for breakfast was a short walk away.

Very nice and roomy. Did not get to use the kitchen but the full-size refrigerator/freezer was a plus. The tub was very clean except there was a tiny bit of pink stuff on the wall right above the tub that needed to be cleaned as well as the tub stoppers in the cupboard under the sink. Overall we would stay here again. Staff very friendly and helpful. They recommended a good breakfast place that was awesome!

Pleasantly suprised at how nice the hotel and room was. Very clean, spacious and well maintained along with a comfy bed and a great location. Could not have been more impressed with our stay and would recommend it highly.

Staff was great very friendly and helpful. Location was great. However property has no elevator so we had to carry our bags up 3 flights of stairs. No issue for us but for older seniors maybe a problem. We stayed in a King Suite. Had a kitchen with fridge and stove.Kitchen supplies could have been better. No spatula, Very dull knives, no knife sharper, Couple of other kitchen supplies missing. Trim around micowave missing. All minor things. Beacon Hill park kitty corner to Hotel. Museum just around the corner. Everything else very close walk. Hotel is on 2 main roads so can be noisy. Free coffee on lobby a nice touch. Overall we enjoy our stay. Need a little love to repair the minor issues in the room. The service and staff made up for the minor issues.

Floors are not sound proof. Late night and early mornings, We could hear stomping and pacing back and forth from the rooms above. It’s very unfortunate when you don’t get good sleep while on vacation. I complained to front desk on the second day but was told that the people in the room above had already checked out.

the Helms was very accommodating to our early arrival. Parking is tight if you have a bigger automobile. No elevator to our room on 2nd floor. The room was very clean and had everything we needed.

The property is a short walk from downtown Victoria and right next to a large park! The hotel room was spacious; including a living room separate from the bedroom and also an efficiency kitchen that was well equipped for making meals. The person at reception was kind and efficient.

We had to move rooms due to construction/noise next to our room. (From Room 206 to 304). We were not given any notice of construction prior to check in. However, we did definitely enjoy our stay at Helms Inn. In addition, we were comped / refunded one night's stay due to the disruption of construction noise. We thank the staff and management for this generous compensation!!

Excellent location for the marathon weekend. Didn’t like my room on the bottom level, I could smell cigarette smoke drifting in from the cars at the stoplights. Everything in the room was in good working order, it had the things I needed to make simple meals, a large fridge freezer and stove. The bathroom was very clean. The tables were a little dusty and the chairs need new covers or just get plastic ones they really showed their dirt. Overall great location, that is the main selling feature.

Nice Place But be Aware of Potential Problem
Nice, clean place, convenient to many attractions in downtown Victoria. HOWEVER, there is no elevator to some of the rooms and having to lug luggage up and down flights of stairs is arduous, inconvenient, and could potentially lead to injuring oneself,particularly if someone is disabled to begin with. Nowhere in the description of this facility is the lack of an elevator to some rooms presented.

Great Location
The room was very clean and comfortable. It was also very noisy. The hotel is quite large so it is probably possible to get a quieter room away from the traffic noise on Douglas. On the up side, the location is fantastic and walkable almost everywhere. The price to pay for the the noise?

An older hotel but clean. Within walking distance to the main attractions. Some of the rooms are still being renovated in a different building, but the noise was kept at a minimum. Our room was nice. The kitchenette is convenient and well stocked. My only complaint is the beds are rock hard. Not good for folks with back and hip problems. Other than that, I was very satisfied. Would definitely stay there again.

The side we stayed on was close to a bus route and at times such as 5 am was disruptive. Other than that it was a lovely stay. Would definitely come back, though away from traffic
