Good, Clean & tidy room with basic amenities. Bed was reasonably comfortable with fan/aircon. Check-in/out was good, friendly & efficient. Price was fair. Quiet. Transportation is at door step or a short walk to most localised places. Breakfast good price. Would stay again. Recommend.

We always love to stay at The Great Southern as it is centrally located making it easy to get to everywhere we need to go. Our only small disappointment is that the showers have extremely low pressure which does not make for an enjoyable shower. Other than that all is good! Merry Christmas to all!

Hotel near main station
The hotel was very near the main station - easy to walk to and back. It clearly had a long history, but the rooms need refurbishing. Ours had sticky carpets and seriously dated decor, however the room was big and there was a kettle and complimentary tea and coffee.

Great Location
Close to Central station, light rail, and bus lines, it’s so easy to navigate Sydney from here. Having Chinatown on the doorstep makes for amazing food choices too. Staff are always friendly and helpful and the hotel rooms are surprisingly quiet given the high traffic area. We love staying at the Great Southern.
