I liked the decor and breakfast was very nice. The first person at the desk who was younger ignored me while on her phone but the lady who helped me was very nice and helpful. Toilet was not set properly and moved but overall our room was very nice.

A really cool spot. The older features throughout were such a nice change from the cookie-cutter hotel. Slightly dusty, but honestly you just have that with older furnishings, so I was not bothered. Linens were clean, no bugs, and everything was tidy. The breakfast was lovely. I'm gluten free and still had a ton of options. But was admittedly jealous of the sea of pastries that looked amazing. Absolutely would recommend to anyone that appreciates a unique and quiet stay. And the staff was fantastic, very friendly and helpful.

We enjoyed our stay at the Cheshire! It is such a fun, charming hotel! The staff was great and the whole theme is quirky and well done. We stayed in the Wordsworth room and loved having a copy of his work available to read, along with his biography on the wall. Such a great touch! The breakfast had a large assortment of pastries, oatmeal, juices and milk. The eggs and potatoes were typical hotel grade. I will say- as a tea drinker i was very happy with the hot tea selection available all day. Areas that could be improved: peeling wall paper in the room. Moldy grout lines. Tiny pillows. A motion sensor bathroom light that turned off during the shower and came on in the night. Areas could definitely use a refresh, but at the same time, it was like staying with your maximalist grandma! We loved walking the neighborhood around the hotel. The burgers and shakes at HiPoint burger were amazing. The traffic and parking at the hotel were a little chaotic but overall ok. We would stay here again!

Quirky concept that didn't quite pull it off. A bit schizophrenic between overtly campy English themed decor to something that maybe took itself a little more seriously than one would expect. Reasonably clean but mildly dog-eared throughout. The pool was closed (empty) and we were told we could go out to the deck to lounge (and have a drink, etc.) but when we tried our key cards to get out to the poolside and tents, the door wouldn't open. The tv in our room wouldn't turn on. The light switch in the bathroom was hidden behind the towels hanging over the toilet. The in-room coffee maker used a 3-pring plug but there was no place to use it in proximity to where it was set up. Even the business center was still using computers that ran on Windows Vista! Just...weird. Plenty of parking was available but we got charged a fee to park our car (even though they never asked for our vehicle's license plate - unnecessary surcharge if you ask me). I really wanted to like the experience more but these (and a few other) nits just ate away at the experience. The staff was friendly and we had "interesting" drinks from the on-site pub. Again, cool and quirky but didn't stack up to similar conceptual overtures like a House of Blues Hotel or something. Probably won't go back but if you're in a pinch, you could do worse. Give it a shot - who knows, you might have more success than we did. Just temper your expectations.

This isn’t a typical hotel. It has a.vibe that you only get at non chains. I hadn’t been there for 40 years if remembered it from a decades old ESPN shoot at the checker dome. It was just as cool and very nicely updated without loosing its vibe.

This hotel is so unique and cozy. It’s my favorite place to stay in the St Louis area, whether a date with my husband or a fun getaway with my daughter and granddaughters. We all love it. The breakfast is the best! Also - ask about their scavenger hunt - very fun & informative!
