Lovely stay
I stay at this hotel regularly and the staff, particularly at breakfast and reception are wonderful. It is well equipped with a good gym for a hotel and a lovely pool and spa area. I would recommend it

Very nice hotel and breakfast, elevated level for sure. Gym and spa excellent, only criticism would be jacuzzi temperature too cold however that is splitting hairs. Cafe Zephyr food was excellent. Definitely recommend.

Great hotel, just as been in the trade the breakfast serving staff , yes be happy and smiling and yes have a laugh but not near guest as they may feel your laughing at them , just looking around on what i saw, but apart from that great hotel

Had a lovely stay. Hotel staff are excellent and very well located. Only downside is noise! At weekends if you have a room with exterior balcony, music is very loud from neighbouring bars.

The staff at the royal yacht were amazing, nothing was to much trouble for them, each and every one of them were polite, well-mannered and a credit to this hotel, the only negative I have was the mattress in our room was awful, not the best nights sleep when we were there but apart from that it was great, central to shops , bars and nice walks , food in hotel was great.

Happy to keep staying at this hotel
I stay at this hotel regularly and have to say that the staff are terrific. This time however there were a couple of things as described below: * if you go to breakfast after 8 the food can be dry and overcooked in the heaters. the bacon was particularly bad. also things like bananas may be gone. * unusually this time, i returned to my room at about 4 p.m. and it hadn't been cleaned. They sorted it straight away when i asked and were very apologetic. As i said the staff without exception are very very good. * The rooms are getting a bit tired in places but the beds are comfortable and everything you need is available.

Small and dated room
This is the 3rd time I have stayed at The Yacht and I am always put in the older part of the hotel where the rooms are dated and very small. The breakfast was great and bar service very good. However, I will be staying in Premier Inn from now on as the rooms are larger, more modern and comfortable.

Came for a break with my daughter and we were both put in disability rooms. We were not able to change, and the receptionist rudely stated that it was our fault for not mentioning we werent disabled. I a,ways thought it would be the other way round!

We chose a Gold Deluxe room which was well appointed, very clean and had plenty of storage. Breakfast buffet excellent with eggs cooked to order. Some lovely staff. We ate at the Grill one evening - the only diners in there - food was excellent and the manager was charming. Two negatives - the bed was advertised as King size but felt much smaller to me, the pillows were lumpy, so not a good night's sleep; the male manager at the Zephyr restaurant was condescending to the point of rudeness. I would return to this hotel and overall we enjoyed our three night stay.

The hotel, being on Liberation Square, is in a stunning location with views of Elizabeth Castle and is perfectly located for buses, shopping, restaurants etc. Our room was fantastic with a great sized balcony and was immaculately decorated. The bed was very comfortable (housekeeping changed my pillows as the original ones weren’t firm enough for me) and the bathroom was quite luxurious with robes and slipper provided. Breakfast each morning was delicious and you were always welcomed with a wonderful smile - a wonderful way to start your day. I’d definitely stay at the Royal Yacht again.
