Although it is a beautiful historic building, the food, services and room amenities are not 5 stars. The buffet breakfast is cafeteria quality, it takes long to get the tables clean. The service at the Courtyard restaurant was poor, we had ordered drinks and we only got them after we finished our meal although we asked the waiter to follow up a few times. The rooms are small and dark, there is a dampness in the hallways and the rooms. In some areas it smells musty. Poor seating in the room…below standard of a 5 star.

Spectacular service, beautiful hotel
After an 18 hour flight, I had forgotten to get cash before getting in a cab that only accepted cash. When I got to the hotel with only my credit card, the staff at the drop off did not miss a beat and escorted me to registration and promptly paid the driver. Unbelievable service to immediately fix a nightmare issue of my own making. The hotel and room are spectacular and flawless. One of the best hotels I've ever stayed at.

The Fullerton is lovely. Really friendly staff who go out of their way to help. Great building steeped in history. Wonderful location for the bay area. lovely comfy room. (It did get a bit chilly in the night until we figured out how to use the air con).
