This is the second time I’ve stayed at La Paloma and both times I was given rooms that didn’t look anything like the luxurious photos advertised when booking a room. My room (59) seemed like a nice motel room. I enjoyed the breakfast very much, and also enjoyed the outdoor seating area in my compound with a fountain and grass. It was especially lovely sitting there on a warm warm summer night with the full moon rising.

I’ve stayed at Las Palomas before and have loved it, but the room I was assigned this time has a huge HVAC unit on its roof making the whole room vibrate with a deep, thrumming, booming sound that made it impossible to sleep. If you’re staying here avoid Room #11 in the Pueblo section if you are looking forward to quiet and a restful sleep. Kitchen staff is particularly WONDERFUL!!

This property is wonderful. First, the staff could not be more helpful and accommodating. 2nd, the breakfasts, which are free, were wonderful. The accomodations were lovely. Each room is unique and lovely in decorations. It's a rustic and traditional feel of Santa Fe. If you want modern, this place is not for you. Las Palomas has a vibe of old world charm with stone pathways and ivy trellises, rose bushes, and other beautiful natural scenery. We felt safe and we were able to walk to the plaza easily. The plaza is about 3 or 4 blocks away. The hotel is old, so expect charm not modern. Thick adobe walls kept us comfortable in the heat of the day. The bed was comfortable and I slept very well which is unusual for me. Thank you, Las Palomas for a great experience. Lisa Dempsey

The staff was nice and the location was convenient for walking into town. Certainly a fair price compared to other hotels in the area, which included parking and a nice full breakfast. The room itself was pleasant (though not spotless), quiet and I felt safe. Unfortunately, there was a gutter downspout with rain bucket in our courtyard area which didn't catch the torrential downpour on the evening we were there. This meant that we had to wade through 5 inches of water to access our room door after dinner. I was completely soaked and my tennis shoes were unwearable the next day. I also did not appreciate the added fee upon check in which they said was not included with the Expedia price.

I just didn't find this hotel charming. It seemed funky and broken down instead of "authentic." I didn't like the painted bare wood floors, the antique dresser draws with slats missing, or the leaking roof. At this price I wanted a bit more comfort & luxury. The breakfast is very good & staff helpful.

Lovely stay
Our casitas was very comfortable and quiet. Our private patio was a very nice feature, but had not been swept out. It was thoroughly cleaned on our third day. Staff was uniformly delightful, and breakfast was excellent. We will stay again. It is within walking distance of the Plaza, so convenient.

Has a 4 night stay at Las Palomas while in Santa Fe for work. When I arrived and checked in the agent was nice, provide a map to direct me across the street to another part of the property. Map is not very clear. I had to help another guest one night find their room after they checked in! My room had a small private courtyard, with the gate that could be closed. The courtyard with a bit dirty, cobwebs, bugs, and debris that has not been swept away. I went into the room and started to get settled in. There were 3 hangers in the room. It took a lot of looking around and I finally found the iron and ironing board. The map I was given at check in also had other info for the hotel. One bit of info was a number you could text if you need anything or had questions. I texted about hangers and never had a response back. That night I noticed a lot of gnats flying around. There was a large gap above the door. In the morning I stopped by the front desk, asked for more hangers that were then provided and told them about the door. They said they would send someone over. I could tell someone did come by, but nothing done. I called the front desk and spoke to another associate who quickly came over to assess. He said he was going to go look for some weather stripping. He did not find any but had a temporary solution for that night of putting a towel over the door to cover the large gap. Next day, no one came…I left the towel over the door my entire stay to keep bugs out!

This is a property in the old city of Santa Fe, only blocks from the main district. Rooms are exactly as pictured. Nice gardens and sitting areas, surrounded by apricot trees that were full of fruit to enjoy. The breakfast was excellent. Would I return? In a heartbeat.
