For what it cost, it was just fine. It's an older property that has had a lipstick-on-a-pig upgrade in recent years. Of note, the check in/check out process is entirely automated. We saw an employee or two, but never interacted with them.

Booked Coyote South based on affordability, location and reviews for a short vacation with my daughter. The hotel has local "flavor" and is on a key road in and out of Santa Fe center city - 15 minute drive, as well as the Railroad yard where there are markets and restaurants. We also found excellent local restaurants in the neighborhood, which were perfect after a long day of walking, shopping, getting cultured, etc.

No front lobby staff and not friendly or helpful front clerk. They seemed annoyed as though we had interrupted their day. Plumbing (toilet) was backed up and was given a plunger. We would like to recommend Coyote South if service is improved. Not a pleasant stay.

Overall the room was ok. We did find the phone chargers were not working and a bug in our bathroom. We booked this last minute and when getting here I can see there were a few other options that seemed better. Plus, not happy they charge an additional 100 to hold in case of damages. The hold takes a few days to get removed. Still an inconvenience.

This hotel is dog-friendly, which is great, but only if pet owners keep their dogs quiet. The people in the room next to mine let their large dog bark loudly and continuously. I called the front desk, which promised to intervene but did nothing. The loud barking continued until nearly 11 p.m. Give this place a miss.

Terrible hotel
This place is not great. The place is falling apart—from the cracks in the wall and ceiling in the bathroom, to the lack of ice on my floor. The service and attitude of people working there also sucks. I’ve stayed at Hostels nicer than this place. Do yourself a favor and pay a little extra and stay someplace else.

Power died in the first room. Second room had a suspicious odor. Third room also had no electrical power. Fourth room was functional. They deducted the $10 "amenities" for our troubles. How generous.

The beds were very comfortable and it had dimmable can lights. The bathroom had nice new tiles, but the door kept hitting in the spots when opening. Forget about being quiet when using the bathroom in the middle of the night. There was also some road noise that was annoying.
