Omg this place was so spacious and beautiful, but I wish there was an elevator because the luggage was too heavy and difficult to carry upstairs. Place was quiet, clean, beds were comfy, had wifi, AC, and full equiped kitchen. There was a shared area downstairs with coffee, tea, sugar and ice water. I will definitely go back.

I asked the front desk on two different days to have the room cleaned and it wasn't done. The room barely fit a queen size bed. When I inquire if all the rooms were that small I was told that only that one. Also, that that room was the one given to people who book through hotels.com I saw two roaches inside the microwave. The front desk was overall friendly and the location is good.

The hotel is.within walking distance to the port and clean. Our only complaint was the pipe from the ceiling dripping condensation on the floor.

Not luxury, very practical.
This is an older building, which should be expected in old town San Juan. This is not a luxury hotel. It has a limitations of an older building, including few outlets, no windows in our room, not a lot of amenities. For a one night stay prior to a cruise, it is probably perfect. Do not bother getting a taxi to the Cruise port, anyone with reasonable health can easily walk and save the taxi. It is also within easy walking distance of all the tourist sites in the old city.

Worst place ever
Rooms too small with no windows it is like a prison cell. Will not stay there even if it was free. Horrible experience. Refused to check in and left the hotel. Be wear. Pictures had nothing to do with reality.

This hotel was in the perfect spot to be a walkable distance from everything in the city. The room was perfect for our group size and the balcony was such a nice plus.

I’m going to preface this with I visited in early Sept, during a week where the Ubers were all saying it was quieter than normal. That said, I thought the property was very quiet, the bed was insanely comfortable and it was very convenient and walkable to all nearby attractions. It’s a traditional Spainish style building with interior doors/courtyard feel and no exterior windows. The AC worked well and staff was nice. A few oddities- there’s a ton of signage around the room and hotel outlining fees for every item that can be broken in the rooms and how much you’ll be charged. Felt harsh and made me wonder if it’s often a rough drunken crowd that stays here if they have this big of an issue with it? Also, the shower was barely working. I’ve honestly never had such a tiny trickle of water in my life. I ended up having to wash my hair in the sink because I was in a hurry and didn’t have 45 mins for the 3 drops of water to clean the shampoo out.

I enjoyed staying at Fortaleza Suites. It’s in such a convenient location. Rooms are pretty small, but considering you don’t spend too much time in the room with the many things you can find yourself doing in PR, it’s great! Only unfortunate thing is that you can hear everything going on in the hallway.
