We absolutely loved staying at Hotel Golden and we will be back! The family that owns this hotel are so nice and helpful. They called a cab for us several times. They recommended great places to eat in the neighborhood. This hotel is about a 5 minute walk from the Borghese Park and Borghese Gallery. The hotel is in a very safe area near the embassy. We also had espresso and a cornetto at a cafe around the corner that we loved. We love Rome and we live Hotel Golden!

Pros:The room was very large and comfortable. The staff was very helpful, friendly and accommodating. Price was good. Cons:We had to buy an adaptor for the US to Euro plug conversion. No snacks or coffee.

Fantastic proprietor, excellent location, beautiful property, walking distance to many of the major attractions, shopping, and dining. The owners helped us with dinner options, shopping questions and arrange van service to our cruise port. Highly recommend this property.

Fantastic family run small no frills boutique hotel. Very traditional managed and run by a wonderful family. We were delayed by 4 hours and did not arrive until nearly midnight to be met by an exceptional young man who helped in every way to get us settled in. No longer serving breakfast but plenty of choices locally.

I was looking for an affordable place for a solo traveler in Rome that wasn't a hostel, close to the city center. This was it. The service was nice, the location is great, and there are plenty of food options nearby. That said, this is a 3-star hotel and you get what you pay for here. There is no fridge (at least there wasn't in my room) or breakfast (or food of any kind), or laundry, or iron, etc. But I knew those things going in. It's a small, family-run hotel. The rooms are basic and the walls are thin. But at least the water pressure in the shower is nice! This is a good hotel if you mainly intend to use the room to sleep at night. Look elsewhere if you seek more accommodations that you may be used to at higher-end hotels.

I arrived an hour and a half early, and it wasn’t very welcoming. I started speaking in Spanish, and it changed a bit. I felt like I was a dorm; if I wake up too early I needed to let them know if not they got upset. I hated that I had to leave the key everytime I needed to go out and pick it up when I come back. The Only two good things was that it was clean and the location, but not very welcoming, it felt like they were doing me the favor to stay there not like I was the Customer.

This hotel was very average. Room was clean but dated and bathroom was looking tired. Woman at front desk wasn’t friendly or welcoming at all. No breakfast available yet the tables and chairs from a previous life line the hallway making the space tight. Worst part is they enter your room when out for the evening. I confronted them about it and they admitted it - “to turn the lights off”.

The staff were wonderful and the property was in a beautiful, safe area. Our room was plenty large and very comfortable. It felt completely different from previous experiences closer to the more touristy areas around the Colosseum and Forum. Rome is very walkable (although hilly for those from flat parts of the world) and we were able to see everything we wanted to from this hotel while not being stuck in a busy, loud, aggressive part of town.
