Rooms are small but efficient. Close to all attractions in old center. We walked most of the time ; Coloseum ,Trevi fountain and Spanish steps. Took taxi to Vatican Museum and walked back. Breakfast was good and worth the 18 Euros but eat lunch and dinner elsewhere. Great location for Roman Tourist.

This chain uses an automatic check-in, like a self-checkout lane in a grocery store. This was my second time staying here, and the system didn't work correctly either time. Multiple people needed additional assistance checking in. The bed is great, but you have to get out at the bottom, feet first. The staff all seems to be very young and informal. The default is that they won't clean your room unless you indicate that you want it the day before. They offer to donate 3 Euros to their own charity if you skip the cleaning--- no refunds to you. There's no coffee in the room, you'll have to pay 3 Euros for that downstairs each time, and if you get a few, make sure to get your room cleaned so they will take away the dishes!

I never write reviews but couldn't let my stay at Citizens M go without comment. It was excellent on all counts. The staff make you feel like family. They listen to what you are looking for and make great recommendations. The property is clean, there is a great energy and it is located within walking distance of most anything you might want to expereince.
