This would have been a 5-star review if it weren’t for the staff—who were horrible! The hotel itself is nice—not fancy, but generally clean and comfortable. Our first night, we arrived very late and put up the ‘do not disturb sign.’ The next morning, a hotel repairman insistently knocked on our door. I tried to tell him we were sleeping, but he refused to leave and when I cracked the door in my nightgown and robe to speak to him, he tried to push it open and let himself in!! To make matters worse, he didn’t have any urgent repairs (leaks, flooding, etc.) I told him to come back later and complained to the manager.
A few days later, we noticed a disgusting stain on the wall in the full morning light (clear body fluids, use your imagination!) We asked the front desk if someone could clean, but housekeeping had left for the day. We offered to clean it ourselves if they would give us a disinfectant. They promised to look at it while we were out. When we came back, the same 2 ladies acted as if we’d never asked! One asked us why we hadn’t noticed the stain earlier, told us every room was perfectly cleaned and signed off before being assigned, and nearly accused us of causing the stain! We were both mortified and very angry. They finally assigned us a different room—even this took 2 tries because they couldn’t figure out their inventory and initially tried to downgrade our room.
Overall, the staff was continually incompetent, often rude, and occasionally hostile. Stay away!!
