Frutillar is a quiet town but the history and culture came to life thanks to Wohlke Mohor, the owner of Playa Maqui. When we checked in at the hotel we were greeted with an invitation to a evening with the owner and local historian. We were delighted to sit and spend time with Wohlke learning about the hitory of Chile, Frutillar, his family and his property. Even though Playa Maqui is a hotel, we felt at home with Wohlke and were so grateful for all the time he spent with us. Even if history is not your cup of tea the breakfast alone makes Playa Maqui the best hotel!! The breakfast was endless, fresh fruit, fresh yogurt, eggs, bread, jams and to top it off the most amazing warm fresh milk~ straight from their cows. Oh and the homemade apple strudel will melt in your mouth! By far, the best breakfast we had in our 2 week stay in Chile! The room was also really nice~great bathroom, great views, modern feel considering the history of the hotel. Overall the BEST experience, you can not miss this opportunity! If you are stopping by Frutillar, you need to stay at Playa Maqui!~ Kimberly & Aleks
