It was a great deal and provided clean and reliable accomodations for Paris and was reasonably close to Notre Dame. We really only slept in the room so it was perfect for us but is small than our usualy hotels would be. Great bang for buck! They even had a bottle of complimentary wine 🍷.

Our third visit to the hotel and we would return. Excellent location on a quiet road close to Bastille and the Seine Clean and well maintained; double rooms satisfactory but compact.

This hotel was perfect for my solo trip to Paris. It was a short walk from the Bastille Metro stop (and near other Metro and bus stops). It was not fancy, but comfortable. My bed was comfy, the tall windows opened to let in fresh air, the heat was perfect - and the hotel was totally quiet! It is on a quiet street between two busy streets - and I heard no noise. Not even from fellow guests! The breakfast was adequate - no fresh fruit, but basically fine and very convenient. Staff was great. Everyone I asked help from - I don't speak French - was super nice. Housekeeping was excellent. A bath lover should request a room with a tub. I had a huge soaking tub - like a spa! A real treat at the end of the day. And the room had a fridge and a teakettle - much appreciated. In short, a great choice near the most picturesque streets of the Marais.

Hotel Castex delivered what it promised: a clean comfortable old school French hotel room in a great location at a very reasonable price. Tight quarters but everything we needed, with a window to let in fresh air. It totally met our needs for a three day stay.

We really enjoyed staying at the Castex, especially when they turned on the heat. Staff were fabulous except for 1 man who got extremely angry with me when I accidentally set off the fire alarm- the switch looked exactly like a light switch in the breakfast room and was not labeled! Otherwise we loved it! And location was fabulous!

I was somewhat disappointed in this hotel. The photos were somewhat deceptive & made it look better than it actually was. It was old which I expected & looked forward to the charm it would offer. But as far as cleanliness it wasn’t the best & could use with an overall deep clean. It could also use with a touch up of paint in some areas. The elevator took several pushes of the button to get it to work & when you did land on a floor it was with a jolt.The bed was not what I would consider comfortable. I loved the window that opened to the street & love to sleep with the window open. But,the street was very noisy with loud talking making sleeping a wee bit challenging. My door to my room locked me out twice & wouldn’t open with a card, they had to come up with a key & unlock it from the inside panel - a bit frustrating. The breakfast was OK - although the tea & coffee was dreadful. The dishes especially the glasses felt like they had a film on them - I noticed they were washing them by hand & perhaps it was leaving a residue. Overall it wasn’t exactly what I expected for the price & would not return in the future.

This is a decent Parisian hotel in an old building. The rooms are layed out well and make the most of the space. If you are looking for an American style hotel you will be disappointed, but if you are looking for a clean, Parisian experience close to transit and close to a vibrant neighborhood, this is a great place
