Bed was top notch. Breakfast sufficient. Pool and whirlpool well maintained. Sometimes i get the feeling that it stays a challenge for hotels to maintain the moisture in the pool areas, in terms of cleanliness and smell (either from chlorine or molds). Definitely not the case for this hotel.

A weekend away
This was our first time at the hotel as we were visiting the area due to a friends wedding. Everyone at the hotel was very friendly and always very helpful, specially when we had an issue with the charging point for our car. They were able to fix it and did it always being so polite and friendly. The breakfast is very good, with a lot of choice/options. The location is just fantastic, the fact we wake up to the sound of birds is added bonus. The only thing I found could be improved: gym facilities and coffee/tea set up in the room to include espresso machine etc.

No where quite like it ! Hotel with superb spa hidden in the woods with great run, bike and walking trails around and some spectacular architect designed properties here and there to spot .Plenty of bikes available at the hotel to explore . Breakfast variety impressive . This is the place to escape .

Superb home from home in the woods - escape the rat race. Grand spa facilities and fine dining but the woodlands setting is the real deal breaker.

Really is a hideaway in the woods , short drive from Heerenveen. impressive pool/steam/sauna facilities and excellent and popular restaurant . Great spread for Breakfast .

Fabulous find in the forest . Hotel hidden away in the woods ...sat nav may struggle to find . Well worth the find. Old world charm in modern setting ..pool etc., An escape from city glitz.

Beautiful woodland location, gorgeous hotel, luxurious furnishings, very comfy beds. Great restaurant, we loved the food here, prices were good. ( we had dinner in the bistro) .Breakfast was delicious with good choices. Wish we could have stayed more than one night to enjoy this fabulous hotel. I would definitely return here.

Wonderful weekend retreat hidden away in the woods. So well hidden your sat nav won't find it easily but well worth the discovery . Almost country house style weekend escape with spa/pool /sauna and choice of dining. Five min drive or pleasant 20 min walk to Thialf .

The hotel is set in the woods Great place. The Hotel was very very warm the rooms hall ways and this did not help me sleep i asked at the front desk but was told that there is nothing they could do because of the weather the last week the hotle was very warm or very cold. Well great nothing to do but pity you could can adjust the temp in the rooms wishd to open the window but could only open full so could not open a little and lock so did not like to open when i was sleeping or out of the room. Breakfast was not bad but the layout of the food was not great and people had to wait and side step to get to the food. took time to refill the buffet , was very busy but i take the staff know how many people are staying in the hotel . No sure if i would say the hotel was worth the money but it not bad.

It's alright
The location is very nice - lots of nice walks in the forest surrounding the hotel. The check in process was (somewhat) easy and the rooms are nice and clean. Breakfast is good too. The reason for giving it 3 stars is the mess up they made with breakfast - whether this is included in our booking or not. I was told at check in (I specifically asked) that breakfast was included. But I was getting charged when I was checking out. The lady did take 50% off at the end, but the mess up shouldn't have happened in the first place.
