House and Location: Great. The unit is right on the beach. We had an awesome trip overall.
Property Management: Basically we showed up to the house too early on Saturday while the cleaners were there and they left before the place was totally clean (particularly the floors). We should have turned around and left but had a 1-year old with us so we opted to stay and try to keep out of the cleaners' way. We ended up cleaning the unit ourselves Saturday afternoon (vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, etc).
There were a few other issues in the unit when we showed up, such as the sliding door to the upper deck was broken and stuck closed, the screen door to the downstairs deck was broken, the Wi-Fi router did not work, the downstairs bed did not have a mattress pad, etc.
I listed these issues in an e-mail to the property manager sent Saturday night, along with a description of the general lack of cleanliness of the unit, in which I asked that they consider giving some money back because of the items listed above. I received a long (and what I considered to be very rude) e-mail response back on Monday which stated among other things, "The only accurate accounting I have found in your e-mail is the mention of the living room screen and two sliding doors that were already scheduled to be repaired." It's one thing to disagree with me about a partial refund, but I paid hard-earned money to have a nice vacation and did not expect to have my integrity questioned by the property manager for emailing them about the state of the rental unit.
Ultimately, the mattress pad was brought over on Sunday (the 2nd day of our stay); the Wi-Fi router was replaced on Tuesday (the 4th day of our stay); and the upstairs sliding door was fixed on Thursday (the 6th day of our stay) so we only had access to the upper balcony for 1 day (which is a pretty awesome feature that we mostly missed out on).
All that said, all the folks that I dealt with in person from the property manager were very nice.
Overall: I would recommend the unit itself, but I had a not-so-great customer experience with the property management.
