At the top of Salgjerhøj lies this camp school with a fantastic view over the Limfjord and the hilly landscape. The holiday home in Salgjerhøj, as it is called, was built in 1972 and was run by Gladsaxe Teacher’s Association until 2019, where it was sold and now for rent as holiday home or camp school. The place can actually accommodate 50 people, but can also be rented without the last floor, so there are 9 rooms with 26 sleeping spaces.
This holiday home/camp school is a connecting building in four staggered plans, but here you get the upper/top plans.
1st (top) plan:
Huge kitchen with everything that belongs to, among other things, 2 fridge, small freezer and commercial dishwasher.
2nd plan:
Living room for approx. 40 m2 as well as table tennis room for approx. 20 m2. Toilets.
3rd plan:
Living room for approx. 30 m2. 2 rooms with 3/4 box mattres with own bath and toilet. 4 room with bunks and 1 single room with common bath and toilet.
The area around Salgjerhøj invites you to hike, there are several marked trails and there’s also trail going to the beach. The bathing jetty is located at Skibsted Strand. You can also walk along the beach to Hanklit and here are the chances of finding many fossils.
Ejerslev harbor is located at the northeast side of the island of Mors and after extensive renovation has become the area's natural meeting point for locals and tourists. Here there’s the possibility of trout fishing from the pier and paragliding from the slope. By the harbor, there is a beautiful lagoon, where the Mo-clay hills rise high and where you can see the layers of volcanic ashes.
The Fossil and Mo-clay Museum tells the 55 million years of history through the many finds that have been made at the Mo-clay hills at the island. From here there is a path going to the agricultural museum Skarregaard, where time standstill in 1958. Here is a wonderful nature playground.
Drive to "Hanklit". Don't cheat yourself for a walk at the top of the famous Mo-clay, "Hanklit" with fantastic view of Thisted Bredning and over the hilly landscape.
Nykøbing Mors (or the city of Nykøbing), visit Dueholm Kloster (Dueholm Monastery), a local historical museum with artifacts and changing exhibits. The Danish Støberimuseum (Danish Foundry Musuem) exhibits the old Morsø wood furnaces and stoves. The pedestrian area or the shopping street connects the city to the harbour, where there are lots of activities throughout the summer. Every evening at 9:00 p.m. during summertime, people gather at the Marina to hear a trumpeter plays a Danish music “The Sun Goes Down (or sunset)”.
The captivating Morsø Golf course lies not far from the city centrum with 18-hole golf course.
South of Nykøbing you will find the scenic Legind Hills, where there are marked hiking trails and mountain bike path. It is also in this area that you will find Jesperhus Holiday Park with flower park, pirate land, large indoor zoo, 4D cinema, Hugo water park and much more.
