Amazing staff at a small boutique hotel.
Great location. Close to everything. The staff were AMAZING 10/10. The unfortunate part is there is construction next door so Monday at 6am they started jackhammering. Most days it wasn’t a problem, but not the hotel’s fault. Room was small but most Manhattan hotels are. The bed was extremely firm. Which some people like but we did not like. At all. Overall, the staff made it the great experience that it was.

Notified shortly before check in that Moderne could not accommodate original reservation, was shifted to an older hotel. No explanation or compensation offered. At least second hotel was in same vicinity. Not very impressive otherwise.

Great place to stay. Clean, modern rooms. Our junior suite was spacious for a family of 3, plus huge balcony that unfortunately we didn’t get to use because it was too cold in December. Small fridge in room was useful. Lobby is small but we enjoyed the guest lounge/room on the 2nd floor with complimentary water, coffee and tea and microwave available. Location is excellent, very central but not as touristy as the Times Square area. Hotel is close to Carnegie Hall and also within walking distance to Central Park, Broadway, Times Square etc. Subway stops nearby and plenty of great dining options, too. Definitely recommended.

Fantastic location just around the corner from Central Park. Very friendly staff. Unfortunately my room’s window faced a brick wall about 4 feet away meaning zero natural light made it into the room. Not great when battling jet lag!

I would stay here again. The only issue is there is not room or shelves in the restroom to put your hygiene items on. It was difficult organizing my things. Restrooms are very cramped. Not enough trash cans in the room. Other than these things. This hotel is in the middle of everything. The staff were awesome.

Fine, not awful.
Room is super tiny but fine for New York because we barley spent any time in the room. Staff is very nice and helpful and friendly. My only complaints is that the elevator is so slow and the ac unit smells like socks but we just ignored it. Would honestly come back but next time ask for a street view!!! Mine was nothing but brick 🙄

We spent four nights at the Moderne late October/first part of November. It is a very nice boutique-type hotel, smaller size and more intimate than a large hotel which was exactly what we were hoping it to be. The location for us was perfect, safe, with Times Square, Broadway, Central Park, The Met, dining, and many other things/places all very walkable. The Subway stations close by also made it very easy to explore other parts of the City. The service at Moderne was outstanding, the staff super helpful, friendly, and they all went above and beyond to make our stay superb, extraordinary even. We want to personally recognize Shay, Melvin, Jerry, and Nidal for their exceptional service, care, and for help in personalizing our stay at the Moderne and NYC. We definitely plan on staying at the Moderne the next time we are in NYC!

The Moderne is a gem of a hotel with the most amazing staff in a great location not far from Central Park, Times Square and Lincoln Center. Will definitely stay here again when we visit NYC!

We really enjoyed the 3 nights we stayed at the Moderne hotel. The room was a very good size, quiet, clean and had an amazingly comfortable bed. I would stay again for that bed alone. The staff are friendly and helpful and the hotel is in a great location, close to the subway, Central Park, Rockefeller centre and a lot of dining options. Cannot recommend highly enough.
