Classic French Quarter hotel. Exactly what I was looking for. But, because it was older, I was pleasantly surprised that it was so clean and comfortable. The staff was beyond friendly.

This beautiful hotel exceeded our expectations! We wanted something in the French Quarter and decided to go with the French Market Inn. I’m so glad we do! The property is stunning. The staff so friendly and the rooms and grounds were impeccable. The location is near tons of restaurants and shopping. You can walk easily to Jackson Square, Cafe Du Monde and so much more, We cannot wait to return in the spring or summer!

I returned for a second stay while in New Orleans for a work conference. It was just as great as I’d remembered. Newly remodeled rooms, staff is friendly and knowledgeable, location is walkable to many attractions and restaurants, and quiet(my interior room faced courtyard). Common areas are well landscaped, tidy, and provide a great space for sitting outside. My room was safe, clean and well tended to, had comfortable beds, and renovations and design choices were polished and well suited the building’s architecture and time period. I will always choose French Market Inn when in the city. Special thank you to the staff, as a great stay is more than a room, but the environment created and conveyed by the people who work there. Without exception, everyone is kind, efficient and effective at their job, and shares advice about transportation, dining, and sightseeing. Be sure to check out coffee shop next door, for tasty coffee.

Unfortunately I wasn't happy with my room, and I would probably stay somewhere else next time. We had regular queen size bed room, and it was super tiny. Queen mattress was too short for my husband(6.3 ft)-he is fine on our queen size bed at home..I thought that mattress was very comfortable. But here are my 3 main complains: - ac unit directly above the bed blowing directly at people on bed-and there's no way to adjust the speed so we ended up turning ac off at night and trying to sleep in musty room, a very small window can't be opened -little fridge that is next to bed was the glass door type and there was light on all the time-I ended up covering it up with a t-shirt at night -lots of yellow mildew in cracks between tiles. As many noted before, the courtyard is lovely and everyone working there is super nice. But rooms need lots of improvement. You get what you pay for.. Next time I would choose some newer hotel in business district that is close to Canal street.

Great stay! Rooms where small but it fit with the historic nature of the hotel. Staff was amazing and the entire hotel was exceptionally clean. Location was perfect and we walked to all the major attractions. But beware of the parking across the street! Do NOT, I repeat do NOT park before checking in. They literally put a boot on our car while we were checking in and tried to make us pay to have boot removed saying we left premise before paying. Thankfully the hotel went to bat for us, but it was a fight. So again do not park before checking in. Overall I would definitely stay here again.

Everything was great. The one drawback is the lack of any drawer space. Otherwise, great location, comfortable bed, nice room, friendly and helpful staff. A great place to stay in the French Quarter.
