The property was awesome, staff were great, location is perfect. The only thing that could be better is if the pool was slightly heated. Other than that the place is a good stay in New Orleans

Felt safe even though we were just a block off Bourbon Street. The interior room shutters blocked the noise and light better than expected. The parking situation was excellent with an on site garage that was very secure. Well worth the $50 daily charge. The day time valet was very friendly and gave some great recommendations for food and fun. Lots of restaurants, bars and historic sites in walking distance. Very convenient at the end of the night. Now for the bad…nothing unexpected. The hotel is old and could use a good refresh, it’s in the French Quarter so don’t expect immaculate. While the essentials…bed and bathroom were clean, we had some large stains on the carpet that could easily be shampooed up, our old wooden window frames were rotting and leaking air, and the bathroom floor could use a good buffing to get up some black shoe prints but nothing major. A good deep cleaning and maintenance staff that took pride in putting their best foot forward would go a long way here. The Dauphine could use a good soft refurbishment of carpets and decor, but for the price and location it’s honestly better than I expected. The bones of the hotel are great and interior courtyards were absolutely lovely. We will definitely return next time in town.

Nice hotel, nice location just one minute walk off of Bourbon. If you want a peaceful night sleep, this is not the place, the main street is a madhouse all the way up until midnight and then, even into the early mornings, you can hear people party and cars blasting their music. Housecleaning walked into my room two times unannounced, did not even knock on the door, once in the evening, and once in the morning. Nice bar restaurant on the corner called déjà vu, friendly people, and a good breakfast to next morning. Rooms were comfy and clean, bed was very comfortable.

We liked the location in the French Quarter so we could walk where we wanted to go. Staff was very friendly and very helpful. We did not anticipate having a room with the outside wall being the outside wall to the building - heard traffic all night (especially cars that blared their music), anyone that walked by and was talking, and the noise from May Baily's. I bought ear plugs so I could sleep - not one to be up until 3AM Our towels were refreshed daily (even though we hung them so they didn't have to) and bed was made all but one day. We had to ask for wash clothes twice and the last night we were there, they didn't have any. Room was cleaned once in the week - so soap was only replenished once. Not much bath soap in that little bottle for two people. It was a nice little hotel in the French Quarter and if you are out all night, this may be great for you. But if you are older and do not partake in the late, late night bar activities, you may want something quieter.

Great staff but maintenance needed
The staff was wonderful. The room was lacking. The sink and tub were very slow to drain. The bathroom vent did not work. Several electrical outlets throughout the room did not work, the plug would not hold in the sockets. Found a used towel still hanging on back of bathroom door.
