Spotted a few roaches crawling around and I wasn’t in the room I requested. I payed for a king sized stay and I got double beds I also checked in online and yet my room wasn’t ready so overall I wasn’t satisfied on how I didn’t get my monies worth especially being there with my loved one

We stayed at the hotel RIU palace Jamaica and I must say it was lovely. I was in the elite room which came with a jacuzzi in the room and on the balcony. The hotel was very laid back but only steps way from its sister hotels if you wanted to party. The staff was very nice and polite, always willing to assist. I definitely recommend this hotel if you’re older but still have some kick in you😂.

I'm only giving 2 stars because the buffet restaurant was actually very good. Our room was disgusting. Dirty. There was a roach in the toilet area. The door was so dirty and damaged. Room number 1055. You walked up to the door and wondered if you're entering a jail cell or a hotel room. The entire feel of our hallways leading up to our room was like being in a prison or hostel and not a resort hotel. The hallway was so noisy with banging doors and screaming guests it was difficult to believe this was an adult only facility. It was so bad one night I thought someone was being killed I asked my husband to look through the peep hole to ensure no one was dying. We never saw a security guard the entire stay and most guests seemed sketchy which made our stay feel very unsafe. The grey tiles throughout our room seemed like it had not been cleaned in years. The room also had a wet cold feel that made even the bed feel wet and uncomfortable. This property is definitely deceiving in that the common areas might seem luxurious but that's where it ends, it's only one step above a hostel and definitely not a luxury hotel.

The best part of this property was the food. The buffet has various vegetarian/pescatarian options and great diversity for broad types of palates- from burgers and fries to local dishes and other world cuisines such as Chinese, Japanese, and Indian options. I chose not to eat at the restaurants because I was so happy with the buffet. The room service on the other hand was not as good. Sandwiches are fine but both times I ordered a sandwich it was soggy and didn’t taste good. The nachos had only a tiny dish of cheese. This place is VERY ALCOHOL/PARTY centered. If that’s not your thing I don’t recommend choosing this resort. There are huge parties at night but also they blast rap music all day and it’s hard to find anywhere that doesn’t feel like a club to relax or read. I was disappointed that I called ahead to book scuba diving and was told I don’t need to book because they don’t fill up. When I arrived I was told the same family booked all three of the coming days for all three dives on all those days and I couldn’t go until the end of the week. I came specifically to dive and only got to dive ONE day because I was told it wouldn’t sell out. It’s not fair to allow one family to book all three dives three days in a row. I came specifically to dive and only got one day in because on the last day I had developed a bad cold. Even if I was able to go the last day, I would have only gotten in two days of diving out of a 6 day trip that I planned to dive every day.

Thin walls! Felt like people were in our room talking … the doors kept slamming. They should remove the word palace from their name honestly. Food was not great, but service was. I like the Jamaican proverbs delivered when making our room. This was a nice touch. Pool was clean, beach water was murky. Riu mo bay was great !! Thank goodness we had access to go there for entertainment

I will come back to this resort. It is Excellent. Everything was clean and on point. I got Elite club and had the best liquors as well. From the very moment i entered this hotel i was treated like royalty. Staff is always on point, happy, helpful. Just the whole vibe of this resort. Excellent entertainment with Genius and Bravo and the bartender Winston omg. Everyone is just wonderful. This is by far my best vacation. Ya Man!!!

Riu Palace is a nice property but definitely could use some updating and attention to detail! We were on the second floor of Elite club and there was no elevator. The room didn’t have all of the welcome package though we arrived at 9:30 P.M. The ceiling fan in my room had dust on the blades and my colleagues room had a tear in the sofa. Also I didn’t feel it was safe or sanitary for myself or the batenders with the amount of hornets flying around the pool bars and landing on the fruit being served to guest. Management definitely needs to assess the property better!
