ABOUT: "The Cottage" is Minneapolis' 5-star accommodation located in a quiet, safe South Minneapolis neighborhood with its small town vibe and Minnesota Nice attitude. The Cottage is a one-level-living HOME (absolutely no steps) with a private yard & gardens, parking & one car garage. The Cottage IS NOT a condo, townhome, duplex or apartment. Guests can walk to Lake Nokomis, Minnehaha Falls/Park, locally-owned restaurants, breweries, bars, bakeries, coffee and fun shops. The Cottage is sandwiched between our beloved Minnehaha Falls/Park & Lake Nokomis and situated in one of the VERY most popular locations in Minneapolis/St Paul. The Cottage is perfect for couples, professionals and those traveling solo— especially women.

DID YOU KNOW? For years the Reveille Bugle Call is played at 7:00 AM and The National Anthem at 4:00 PM every day at a nearby park. This is easily heard outside at the property, which is just another charming, unassuming characteristic guests love about this well-established neighborhood with its small town vibe.

LOCATION: Close to the Mall of America & major highway thoroughfares makes getting around Minneapolis/St Paul and surrounding suburbs almost effortless. Close (but not too close) to MSP International Airport makes it an ideal location for International travelers and guests with close travel connections.

Walking distance to Minnehaha Falls/Park and Lake Nokomis. The Greenway and intricate system of paved bicycle paths is just out the door, which intertwines through Minneapolis/St Paul and the surrounding suburbs. Guests are encouraged to explore what Minneapolis/St Paul is MOST known for...our LAKES! It is why we are called "The City of LAKES"!

METRO TRANSIT: Is one block away with access to The Light Rail/Blue line, which whisks guests to US Bank Stadium, Twins Stadium, Downtown, MOA & MSP. Guests can switch to The Green Line to access St Paul.

OUTDOOR: The Cottage hosts a private outdoor lounge/patio area w/pergola, canopy and fire table surrounded by mature organic gardens and herbs. Guests are free to help themselves to strawberries, herbs & flowers. Comfortable outdoor furniture, fire table & grill beacons guests to relax and enjoy our Minnesota Nice weather most of the year.

The Cottage is designed by the Norwegian owner with clean, contemporary, functional Scandinavian influences. Vaulted ceilings, sun tunnels bringing the natural light in and unique lighting add to a bright, open & spacious feel. The Cottage hosts one bedroom w/ queen bed and high quality mattress. The living area hosts a comfortable sofa, chair and large television with all the channels including FREE Netflix, Amazon movies & Apple TV. A fully-equipped kitchen hosts a kitchen island w/seating for 2, refrigerator, range, microwave, Keurig coffee maker, dishwasher and pantry. There is also a desk with 2 work stations. A compartmentalized closet has plenty of space for guest's belongings. The spa-inspired bathroom hosts a shower w/grab bars, heated bathroom/fan, large lighted mirror, storage cabinet and washer/dryer.

Note: The Cottage is ONE-LEVEL living with NO STEPS, which makes it convenient for everyone - especially those with physical limitations.

THE NOOK: The Cottage also includes "The Nordic Nook", which provides a private separate detached heated/cooled space adjacent to The Cottage where guests can enjoy yoga, artwork or crafts, watch television, work or take a nap. The Nook is perfect for couples traveling together who may want or need time alone.

The Cottage consistently provides a clean, safe, comfortable “home away from home” experience with a Minnesota-Nice attitude.

Super clean and cozy!
Wonderful place to stay for two people. Short walk to restaurants and grocery store. Close to the lake and park. The fire pit out back is a great place to sit with lots of privacy. The Nook is a cute extra space to use.

Love the Cottage
Our third stay and it was just like coming home! We park in front/or in the driveway, so convenient. We stopped at the market just up the street for a few groceries and then were set for the evening and breakfast before our business schedule began. The heat was comfortable since the temperature went down quickly. Then we enjoyed the patio later in the week when the temp went up to 70! So convenient to the airport and the rest of the city. Five Stars!!!!

Peaceful Paradise in the city
The Cottage is one of those places you yearn to find. Clean, comfortable, adorably decorated, with every amenity you need. We have stayed at this property several times (and would love to return). The location is a quiet neighborhood, convenient to lakes, restaurants, shopping, and transportation. Carolyn is an excellent host. She communicates clearly and has created a unique property offering quiet, safety, and privacy.The charm of this property is a starring feature, with extras inside and out. This is a great getaway for a couple or someone single.

Me and my boyfriend decided to go to Minneapolis on a whim 10 days before our scheduled vacation, possibly because our favorite baseball team would be in town, but that’s neither here nor there. From the moment, the literal moment, that we booked The Cottage, Carolyn was nothing less than spectacular. She responded to all of my emails and there were quite a few. She was willing to help us in any way. Anything from the lists of stores and activities near by to recommending a place for an amazing steak dinner (Manny’s, you have to go), Carolyn did it all. The Cottage itself was an absolute dream as well. We’ve already said that if we might make Minneapolis a yearly trip because of the amazing time and accommodations. If you’re reading this, STOP and BOOK THIS PLACE!!! You will not regret it!!!

The Cottage is perfect for couples. We had a wonderful stay. Our host was easy to get in contact with and left us a nice snack tray for our arrival. Location was so convenient to everything! We had a great stay at Carolyn's cottage. Carolyn is a terrific host - she was quick to answer all questions and had great recommendations for us! The cottage had everything you could have ever needed and is decorated to help you relax on your vacation. The Nordic Nook was cool - we weren't there long enough to really use it but its an added bonus to an already cool cottage. The location was great - nothing we visited was more than 18 minutes away. Minnehaha Falls, grocery and restaurants were within in walking distance. I can see why Carolyn has so many 5 star reviews.

The unit was beautiful and one of the very best supplied VRBOs I have ever been in In fact, the TV system was stellar Usually, in every VRBO I have been in, I have had difficulty with the TVS working right The one in this unit has absolutely everything you could want STELLAR The decor was lovely and very private Walking distance to the Sweet Berry restaurant , which has a wonderful breakfast menu. A nice grocery store a few blocks away Just minutes to a great seafood place Sea Salt, which is in a park setting and features the Minnehaha Falls Less than 4 miles from the airport, but still in a quiet location You can't go wrong with this property It was perfect for me👍💯💯👍

A quiet escape in Mpls
Carolyn makes use of every corner in her home design in a clean, contemporary and cozy way. Birds sing out in the garden and also sit impishly as design elements inside. We enjoy the romance of small cottage but appreciate the extra space of the Nordic Nook when one of us needs privacy for work, make art or just watch a different tv show from the other. Great, welcoming lodging.

Great home away from home in the best neighborhood
Great place to stay if you are visiting Minneapolis. Location is close to the airport and in a nice quiet neighborhood. Easy access to the freeway to get to anywhere in the Mpls-St Paul area. Restaurants and grocers just a few blocks away. The cottage is perfectly adorable, with everything you need for a few days or a week. My husband and I were able to split up between the cottage and the lovely Norske Nook (extra room attached to the garage) to work without hearing each other on Zoom calls. And the garden is lovely to walk through each time you enter. Carolyn is the perfect host, quickly responding if we had a question. We travel to Mpls a few times a year for work and we will be back if the cottage is available!

The place is one of a kind. Perfectly decorated and extremely comfortable. The outdoor area is a really great spot to sit out with a cup of coffee or a glass of wine. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay!

My husband and I stayed at Carolyn's adorable cottage for 4 nights this past weekend. The patio and Nordic Nook are such peaceful and relaxing spaces and the cottage is stunning. We walked to and around the lake twice. We are looking forward to another stay while we visit family in the area.

Third stay at this charming location
Three stays say it all. I have stayed in many VRBO locations around the World and this one is in my top five. There are only two improvements I can think of 1. A better mattress or bed. 2. Snow removal at hours of normal human wake hours. Host is very helpful when it comes to check-in, check-out and additional information durning stay. This location is close to airport and has varied local shops that are fun to experience. Check out local hardware store.😊 Great visit and we will be booking this location again!
