For $400 for a mid-tier suite, I feel sorta ripped off. The room itself was spacious, but everything was so old (except the phones), that it was a turn off. The marquis at a minimum is centrally located in Reforma and whether you're visiting the historic old neighborhoods /Zocalo or on the other end like Polanco, it's right on the main drag between the two. Upon check in, the receptionist told me the entire hotel was booked and couldn't get me into an early check-in, then she must have seen my status with Expedia and said "oh I have a room for you" and was able to check in 3 hours early, so at least that VIP perk did go through. Otherwise the entire hotel needs renovation and I'd bet was beautiful 25 years ago, but it's seen some days since.

The hotel staff was friendly and helpful and the property is located in a prime location, within close proximity to the huge Chapultepec complex and plenty of transportation options. The property is nicely decorated, but the room itself felt a bit outdated and there were a few issues with the room we stayed in. The hotel offered us a bowl of delicious fruits for the inconvenience, but it was really not what we expected from a 4/5-star rated hotel.
