Nice Hotel with View of the Mississippi River
The Hyatt Centric Beale Street is very nice: clean, modern, comfortable, and located just one block from the "main" part of Beale Street. If you choose to use an independent parking garage, there is one located kitty-corner. The pool is nice with sufficient amount of seating (at least for the time period we were there). The dining staff were super friendly and attentive. The registration staff were cordial but when we reported a couple of minor issues to them, they responded politely but seemed not to care. We visited the rooftop bar one evening, hoping just to relax outside in the warm weather and enjoy the view; after 20 minutes we left because no server came outside to actually clear off/clean tables or take an order. In spite of those minor annoyances, would still recommend this as a great place to stay.

While the location was awesome and our room quite nice (corner room suite) the hotel just smelled really bad! I ran into a lady in the hallway who stopped to ask me if I thought the smell was safe - it was that bad. After we left my clothes smelled the next several days of our trip.

Easy walk to everything on Beale but the room was really great….motion lighting under the bed so you don’t get lost at night, huge TV, separate toilet from sink and separate shower (never seen that before). Overall one of the nicest hotel rooms I’ve stayed in

Cancelation NIGHTMARE
I attempted to cancel my reservation due to an emergency health crisis well in advance and was not successful. It should not be that hard to cancel a reservation. Could not find the confirmation number or any contact from Hotels.com until it was too late to cancel. I spoke with representatives from the hotel, but was told it had to be canceled through Hotels.com. Completely insane ESPECIALLY when it is made unnecessarily complicated to do so.

It was very comfortable and quiet. The staff was super friendly and accommodating. My only complaint is that I had to go off the hotel grounds to take my dog to go potty. Would appreciate something a bit closer, especially at night for safety reasons since you are a pet-friendly hotel.

The hotel is conveniently located and has a couple different dining options. Also, the rooftop lounge is very nice, overlooking the Mississippi River, although the night we were there, the bar actually ran out of wine (seriously). The only real criticism I would have is that it was a bit noisy, even though we had a room overlooking the pool/river. Overall, a good experience.

We are locals and did an overnight Centric stay to take in a show at the Orpheum. It’s a great hotel with nice bar, food, and people. Very convenient to downtown Memphis amenities. Highly recommended.
