I booked three rooms for a business trip and in all three rooms, the air-conditioning did not function, making for impossible and very uncomfortable sleeping conditions. Not good enough

Location ideal, staff fantastic, rooms old but clean. The only negative was that on the hottest two days of the year thus far, the air conditioning broke down. I did ask to have it fixed however they claimed the whole system was broken which on speaking to other guests whose rooms were cold, I had to question. Obviously, not a weekend fix.

It was a pleasant stay. It was disappointing not to have a view of anything but the atrium but I think this is a common issue in Melbourne. Menu was great. I would consider staying again.

A quiet stay with standard service. Concierge on Saturday afternoon was brilliant. We weren’t made aware of the major renovations occurring. Room had an internal window that looked out over the renovations and into the pool and gym. Because of this the privacy was lacking in our room and public spaces. Stayed in a family suite. The second ‘bedroom’ was small and the door wouldn’t stay shut as the strike plate was missing. The bathroom door couldn’t be locked, it was sticky. Beds were suitably comfortable. Overall a decent stay for the night even if it was quite pricey. Would consider alternatives and weigh up the options of booking again.

Great Stay
Had a great stay at the Novatel. We ordered the breakfast with our package and it was well worth it. My only let down was the sleeping pillows were to soft for my liking.

Friendly staff, decent size room, well equipped gym. The hotel decor is quite tired. The most frustrating element was the WiFi. It was barely over a 1mb speed for the whole duration of my stay, which is laughably slow.

Great location but a bit tired
Despite the hotel’s favorable location, the guest experience was significantly compromised by the subpar condition of the rooms. Several amenities were missing or malfunctioning, including missing light fixtures and inadequate lighting throughout the room. The bathroom layout was poorly designed, causing inconvenience during use. The absence of night lights or dim lights further exacerbated the situation, making it challenging to navigate the bathroom at night. Additionally, the room carpet was visibly soiled, and the bathroom had not been adequately dried, which contributed to the overall discomfort.

Very conveniently located and food very good. But hotel is scruffy, room carpet ripped in two places, carpet in reception disintegrating. Desk and vanity unit surfaces in room peeling off, the place needs a refit.
