Beautiful resort!
We really enjoyed our stay at Saletoga Resort! The staff were very friendly and accommodating and we also enjoyed the spa! Highly recommend this resort to anyone staying in Samoa looking for a relaxing holiday.

resort is OK, not the 5-star it claims to be though. Service is slow, "island time" is standard. location is challenging and a long way from any proper services or activities. Outside of the resort the island is dirty and littered with trash. The island paradise is covered in bits of rubbish littered along the road sides. The roads are in poor condition resulting in very low speed limits. Feral animals (dogs, cows, pigs and more) roam freely. Would rank as third place in the three south pacific island locations we have holidayed at.

Definitely best place I have stayed in Samoa. Great team of people who work there - in all areas of the resort. The villas are huge and comfy. The beach is great for snorkelling and swimming all day (not tide dependent). We had great massages and facials in the Spa. But the best is the food. AMAZING pastries at breakfast and great food all day for all meals. If you want a lazy relaxing break in Samoa this would be the place for you. You need to be aware that if you wanted to do anything else on the island you would need a car or you can join one of the tours organised by the resort. (We had a car so visited the giant clams, waterfall/swimming hole. RSL museum etc under our own steam. )

Excellent location, right next to the sea where you can relax on loungers on the beach or go snorkeling. The buffet breakfast is excellent, only thing missing is bacon. Staff are lovely. Rooms are huge with aircon and a fan and a gorgeous outdoor shower. Gardens are beautiful. One and only complaint is if you are passionate about your coffee you need to ask for espresso shots in a tiny cup or you will get watered down coffee. We would definitely go back and highly recommend to others. We heard time and again from others that Saletoga Sands is the best resort on Upolu, Samoa.

Saletoga resort is where you find the real heart of Samoan hospitality & culture. We loved every moment of our stay, from check-in til the end so much we didn’t want to leave. So proud to see that our people love working at Saletoga, which means the owners & managers are treating them well. We are already keeping an eye for preferred dates to book for next year. Every bit of detail around the resort (landscaping, design, facilities, staff etc) we appreciate and admired the attention to detail of designs etc See you again Saletoga.

Very cool location and beautiful resort. FiaFia night was a highlight. Food is highly priced but much of it canned food and imported which may be what's available on the island. Bit of a weird system with wifi codes only valid for 24 hours so everyone has to keep going back to reception. Lagoon and reef Infront of the resort great to explore and free use of kayaks, paddle boards snorkeling stuff etc. Overall very happy.

Sadly, it just didnt do it for me, having stayed at the La Lagato & Taumeasina resorts first. The bar was set high. On arrival, La Lagato & Taumensina both welcomed us with complimentary drinks & iced towels. Taumensina even presented us w/fresh floral lei's. Saletonga? Nothing. We weren't even acknowledged waiting at the front counter to check-in for a good minute or two. Once checked in we were told a porter would come and help us with our luggage. 5mins of waiting by our car awkwardly, we ending up skull dragging our suitcases across the thick gravel carpark, causing damage. Once across the long stretch of gravel, we loaded our bags onto a flat bed trolley left on the path. Only then did one of the receptionists come out, unloaded the trolley, and walk us to our room. The 2bdrm suite was spacious. The 2nd bdrm being 2x walls in the corner of the room that didnt meet the ceiling, so there was noise pollution between the rooms at night. Beds were very comfortable & I loved the private outdoor shower, esp at night under the stars. The room had aircon (nowhere else on the resort did) but was stuck on 26°C. The receptionist said she'd get maintenance out to fix it. They never came. Theres SO MANY sandflies and mozzies in comparison to the other resorts. The Fia Fia & Buffet night was fun BUT Ive had gastro for 4days since. Happy hour saves only $2 on 2x set already expensive drinks. Dinner will cost you around $500 for 4ppl. $340 for the buffet. Is Sal worth the price? Not IMO.

Relaxed in Paradise
Our villa faced the pool and was within walking distance to the beach as well. Our villa was spotless and spacious. Each villa had their own private outdoor shower. My only issue was the mattress wasn't firm but other than that our villa was fine. The staff were all helpful and friendly. You can hire snorkeling gear, paddle board, read a book or swim in the pool. We hired a car but I think there's a shuttle from the airport that can be arranged with the resort. There are tours available. Hoping to return with our children next time.
